Good staff that were very helpful and friendly and the extreme cleanliness made the slightly out of the way location a minor issue. I did wish that checkout time was a bit later and that there were a few more bathrooms outside of the dorms, but other than that it was good.

Loved it! Only downside is location. About a 10 minute walk to the nearest u-bahn and a 45 minute walk to the city centre.

Enjoyed our two nights in this hostel. The bar is ridiculously cheap and there's a great atmosphere. The rooftop terrace is nice too. Checking in takes a while because they require so much personal information from you. Instead of a deposit on the key, you have to leave an ID (you're not allowed use your passport for this) behind reception for your entire stay which seems a bit over the top.

The smallest (and furthest) location from the main Vienna train station, which makes navigation a bit difficult. 5 min walk to the tram, 20 min to the metro, but the main road before it has plenty of food options! A bit noisy in the halls at night, and the mornings for checkout can be a bit chaotic. Wifi works occasionally, but the private rooms were clean and comfortable! Staff was nice and informative. Kitchen, lounge and bar areas are very spacious and great for relaxing and hanging out!

It's slightly out if the city center but it's literally right next (10 min walk) from the metro station so it's really not an issue. Atmosphere is great, rooms were clean, lockers in your room to secure your stuff. Wifi was a little iffy but still definitely worth the money.

This hostel has some great points such as comfortable beds, good bathrooms and cheap breakfast which consists of bread, meats, cheese, spreads and cereal. The downside to this hostel looks like it's used a lot for your groups and school groups. Not so good for the noise level and when we were there a group of 15 year olds took over the entire common space which included the bar. Also when getting late check ins someone should make up their bed so they don't do it in the dark and wake people up.

Great hostel; A bit far from city center, but easy access to metro, shopping areas, and restaurants; A bit of a party hostel, though, and can get loud at night (even on the upper floors)

Wombat has a really vibrant feel. The staff all look very cheerful and are always ready to help and give you tips about looking around in Vienna. The bar on the ground floor sounds busy and interesting although I never had time to check it out. I liked the fact that upon your arrival you were given a voucher for a free drink in the bar. Some of the signs were cute, they actually "beg" you to bring down the usbed bed linens. Only thing is that facilities are not that new. But overall great value

The reception staff weren't very happy or helpful, bar staff were a bit better. Not much atmosphere to meet people. After staying in some awesome hostels and hearing good things about wombats, this was a massive letdown.

It was nice and of good value, but the atmosphere of the hostel was a little lack-luster. Maybe more group activities or ways to be more social in the hostel?

Fantastic hostel. Loved the staff, they make you feel at home. Complimentary drinks at the bar. Great breakfast for a very nominal fee. And an excellent kitchen and 24/7 free pasta at your disposal. Loved this place.

Has everything you need in a hostel. The location isn't great, but that is reflected in the price. Easy walk to metro to connect you where u need to go. Bathrooms, kitchen common areas are very clean. The wifi I connection is poor.

First: go to vienna. Stay as long as you can. It's the greatest. Wombats the base is a decent hostel (I stayed 3 bed dorm; with 2 people it was tight space...). Location is the worst of all three wombats. Stay at the naschmarkt (5 minute walk to city center) or lounge (right next to main train). The base is about a 15 minute walk just to the train to get downtown. Plus, that walk is down a couple side streets, as a guy alone I felt fine. Staff was OUTSTANDING though.

The internet was very unstable and slow in the rooms.

Overall a great experience for what I paid. With the hostel being located in between the main part of Vienna and Schönbrunn Palace you can easily make do without taking the metro. The staff could have been friendlier at times and the area around could be a little sketch late at night. The rooms and bathrooms were clean though which is always a plus!

Great Hostel! every thing was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good and had an excellent value for money. the Staff was always very helpful and nice. We could leave our stuff in the locker room for free when we left, which was great, but nobody asked about our hostel-ID for that, so its maybe possible to make it a bit saver in the future. It was a little bit noisy because of the trains at the nearby station but the people in the hostel were very quiet at night which was nice.
