Very nice hostel but WiFi is absolutely bad. I had trouble connecting most of the times and when it did connect, the connection drops very few minutes or so. Fabian, one of the staff absolutely made my stay as he was super nice and gave me a bunch of good recommendations on where to eat and what to do.

Wombats hostel is a real "hostel" hostel. A lot of kids on gap years, which is fine, but you might feel a bit out of place if you're a bit older. Rooms were very basic, nothing special at all. I was only there for one night, as I had already booked another couple of nights at Hostel Ruthensteiner around the corner, and I much preferred the latter.

Ok location, bit of a walk though, about 35 minutes to the main parts of Vienna. A bit pricey considering breakfast wasn't included (we've stayed at lots of hostels for the same price with breakfast), security was great always felt safe, nice little kitchen and the place had really cool bar area. All in all the experience was pretty good, could have been better.

Wombats lounge was ok place to stay at. But in the room it was terribly hot!!! As well as in the bar. Other than that, it was good. Staff was good and helpful. Breakfast was also very good, I think! Bread, eggs, cheese, ham, muesli, joughurt, coffee, tea...

Was a great time and great place to meet people. Wifi is bad though

This place place was like staying in a hospital, it was so boring. Most of the people who stayed there were not backpackers, but families with children. Plus, the Internet didn't work in the lobby, which where you would normally hang out and meet people. The bar was tucked away in the basement, which was hot and the bar tender was grumpy. I could go oN. By far the worst place I stayed on my entire trip through Europe. Sorry Wombat but true

good chain, would stay here again,. right round the corner from a student and traveller bar. also has a good bar in the basement and it attracts a good range of people. note that parents with kids will stay here too, it is not aimed solely at youth backpackers.

Don't stay here if you're spending most of your time in the city centre, it's quite a bit out of the way. Staff was very nice and the common area was super cool. They had an awesome HUGE couch that was super comfortable to lay in. Rooms were cool. Wifi worked for me fine but didn't work for my friend. No air conditioning but there was an ensuite bathroom. Seemed very family orientated too

Comments for hostel (not for a published Review) Reception and ground floor layout could be improved, reception area is too far forward, general effect official rather than welcoming. I'd move it away from the door over to the left, use the sunny area around entrance for sitting and relaxing, to promote a more welcoming atmosphere. Reception staff very nice - no reflection on them.

one of the best hostels I've stayed in for a while. great helpful staff!

Super nice hostel! Friendly and helpful staff, was definitely thankful for the laundry facilities too! Only thing is the wifi is a tad bit slow.

A little bit away from the city centre if you're planning to walk.. But it's wombats, you won't regret..

Awesome Hostel with an amazing atmosphere, clean rooms and bathrooms, and friendly staff

This is a very large 'hostel' which caters for numerous groups including families and school groups as well as traditional backpackers. This makes it quite difficult to meet others especially that the WiFi in reception in terrible but super fast in the dorms?! Anyhow... super clean hostel, staff helpful. It is a little way from town (10mins) but the metro stop is just down the road.

Nice hostel, bar area was cool and the cocktails were good! Would stay again

excellent place. one of the best hostel I've stayed in

Very friendly reception staff. Very cool bar downstairs. Private ensuite room very good apart from the dim lighting. Hired a bike for the day from the hostel- best way to see Vienna for the first time.

Convenient. Near train station. Room for 2 people is quite big. Several food shops and supermarkets near the hostel. Breakfast is cheap and there are many varieties.
