I will say that this place has the 'feel good vibe'. It has the homely feel. I would appreciate it if they are more power point in the room. And probably improve the toilet facilities. Add more lights, etc. In short It was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it to all my friends.

No atmosphere, no real hostel, no maps for customers (I would have paid for it), no reception, "roof top" is full with rubbish. Have traveled a lot in China, definitely the worst hostel I've been. The family is very nice, but they don't care about creating some hostel atmosphere.

It was helpful to have the phone number of the hostel to show the taxi driver, who called Maggie to come meet us on the street, otherwise it would have been hard to locate. I met a lot of interesting people here.

we should've called them before we got lost on the way to hostel. the map on their card is much easier to get there than google map. staff and atmosphere are nice. one thing is that the room has no hair dryer.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. Your hostel was best hostel in my traveling in Asian countries. Also, thank you very much for helping me although I couldn't speak Chinese. Thanks to your hostel, now Xiamen is one of my favorite cities in the world. I would like to visit Xiamen and your hostel again.

Definitely a very warm and cosy home stay style of hostel. Maggie and Phil make one feel so welcome.

If you are going to invite people into your 'home' and let them use the facilities ie kitchen then it should be clean!

Stayed in the 4 bed dorm. It's basic but clean and convenient. The location is awesome, dug up deep in the old town, a lot of character. Only a few minutes walking from markets, cheap restaurants, express bus station, sea shore and ferry port. The owner appears to be a very friendly American hippie.

This is a really good hostel to stay in if you want friendly service that goes the extra mile, and a homely experience. It is not a party hostel, though, and is suitable for people who want an authentic Xiamen experience and some peace and quiet. The owners are very informative and can give guidance for things to do in Xiamen as well as help organising plane tickets, directions, brochures, etc. They also organise a tour to the Hakka tulou up-country. Rooms are fine. Thumbs up all round!

Interesting to living small alleys. It is no so hard to find your way around after the first time. The family was very helpful and would go out of their way ( even take you to a barber if you need one). Altogether an intersting area. John-Australia
