Had a great time, the owner is unbelievably helpful, and it's generally just a really cool place to stay in San Salvador. Big recommendation.

its a 10 min walk to the metro center which is great. we turned up 2 days early because of a change of plans, they just swappad our booking. the hostel was empty there was the two of us and 1 other person which we only met once. so its not fair to judge the atmosphere when the place is empty. The rooms could do with a paint job and the bunk bed in our room looks so old.the beds were camp beds squashed together so I was glad the hostel was empty as it would be very cramped if the room was full.

Like stepping back in time to 1990, complete with VHS player and videos! Looks unclean and grotty. Private rooms are v.average&overpriced. Dorm is a joke; Door doesn't close, no lockers, giant ants in bathroom, bunk beds are in a dangerous state, sheets worn and torn. Cleaning started at 4am, which made it impossible to sleep. workers generally rude, however Lena is v.open to giving good advice on where to travel. Location is the best thing going for Ximemas, but there are others in the area.

I am sorry to hear that your experience was negative. As for the VHS and old things you saw, we have tried to give the hotel a different look with than your average hotel. There are areas even with adobe style wall to make the look the Salvadorian style country home. Most of the hotel is decorated with arts, crafts, paintings of Salvadorian painters and antiques. Too bad that seemed grotty to you. We keep a clean hotel, if you were woken up at 4am I am sorry for that, will go through the routines with my employees so that does not happen again. As other people use the dorms and bathrooms you might have found them in a used /unclean state but we clean daily the rooms and the common areas twice a day. We Do have lockers, there is a big sign at the front desk. All the room doors close perfectly ( you need to turn the button in door knob to one side) these are things our employees could have informed you if you were to ask. If you were to come though here again i invite to you ask for me for any questions, inconveniences and I am sure you will have a pleasant stay.

Well, what to say when you have a very friendly staff working and a very helpful and nice manager but the hostel has definitely seen better days in terms of upkeep. You feel that.not even one cent was invested in this place since its opening 24 years ago.The shared bathroom was dirty and without toilet seat and the rooms were not in the best shape at all. No kitchen for guests, they charge for internet and Wifi. On another note, the mall is very near to this hostel and the area is safe.

The hotel is currently being renovated but as we are small family business we have not had the opportunity to do it all at once. All the private baths are completely renovated now and most of the private rooms. The dorms are next. The toilet seat was broken by a guest and is replaced a long time ago. Our kitchen is small and is just big enough to serve our guests so we do not have it open for all guests who wants to use it on their own. We have public refrigerator where the guests can keep their food/drinks and we lend kitchen ware and cutlery if you need it. We invite you to come back on a later occasion and hopefully your experience will be better.
