The staff was excellent, especially Nina! She took me on a hike up a mountain to a small fishing village outside of town and it was a lot of fun. The ambiance was excellent in the common area and the pizza was good - it made the hostel smell great, however, the private room smelled musty and there was a lot of moisture - nothing ever dried. The walls needed painting and the curtains were really old and worn. Maybe if they supplied you with a humidifier in the room, it would have helped.

Our room had a great view of the Li River. Everything was fairly clean, but there were dead mosquitoes on the walls and when it rained during the night our bathroom ceiling leaked. Staff were friendly accommodating. They helped us arrange a bamboo raft tour as well as transportation to the Longsheng terraces. The wood fired pizza was delicious! Overall, a pleasant stay.

Beautiful area! Many things to see and do in the area, and Yangshuo is only 40 minutes away. Made fans, summited a carse, bamboo boat rides, and bike rides down the river. Absolutely amazing staff, friendly, english speaking, and welcoming. Wonderful stay!

This was the most amazing hostel ever! The staff's English was excellent, especially the owners one. Staff was so incredibly helpful, organized a taxi for us when we were in a town far away, translated on the phone, lent flashlights and showdryer, provided us with very helpful advice about the area. Further, they also called us when we didn't get back in time to make sure we are safe! Sooo extremely awesome! I definitely wanna go there again for sure! Thank you for everything!

So much better than staying in Yangshuo! Steer clear of the cheaper bikes, and hey I would say that they might want to leave it til a bit later and folks are actually awake before sending the cleaners into the dorms, but generally a brilliant place (with some great films in the library when it's raining..)

This place is at the center of Xinping. There is a mountain nearby you can climb with a stunning panoramic view of the area at the top. The wood stove baked pizza is excellent and the rooms are very clean and would not be out of place in a much more expensive establishment.

The staff were absolutely wonderful in accommodating to our needs. Staying at this hostel made my trip to Guilin, Yangshuo and Xingping all worthwhile!

Beware: This hostel is not in Yangshuo. It is in Xingping, 1h (7y) bus ride from Yangshuo. But totally worth it! If your interest is authenticity Xingping fills the gap, and this hostel doubles it. Cool staff with really good english. Good pizza and movies every night. Is just a step away from the river, and the rooftop view is amazing. Clean, lockers in the room and with a cozy common room. Would've stayed more time if I could!

Really nice place with a great view. The staff are very friendly, helpful and their English is excellent. The place is 1000x better than YangShuo as it is not as touristy, but it is also easy to find places to go and see. There are regular buses to Yangshuo that cost 7 RMB, just beware that the last bus leaves YS at 18:40 or so, after that you'll need a cab (roughly 110RMB). Go there before the trainstation from Guangzhou opens in 2014! We brought our two kids (6mths and 5½yrs) and it was great!
