This place was really great - Xingping is a small village about an hour from Yangshou with jaw dropping views and untouristy vibe. The hostel was pretty and very well located. From our room (402) we could see the limestone Karsts rising from the river. ok so its not actually in yangshuo, but expect for that A1, stunning view toook so its not actually in yangshuo, but expect for that A1, stunning view too...Close

The staff were nice and the place itself was nice and clean. But if you are coming for the great views, you are in for a disappointment. And I don't just mean views from the hostel, but the whole town was not at all as it is portrayed in pictures. The staff were nice and the place itself was nice and clean. Top hostel, rooms and bathrooms are very clean, staff are very helpful, pizzas are great, there is a great common area good for chatting to people. Xingping is very small so no 'nightlife' but definitely worth a night or two before or after Yangshuo, countryside is amazing, lots of traditional farms and Chinese villages around, great for photos.Top hostel, rooms and bathrooms are very clean, staff are very helpful, pizzas are great, there is a great common area good for chatting to people. I don't think anyone would be upset with what This Old Place has to offer. Amazing character! Wood Fired pizza! Local life! Great hikes! And very close to the nicest sunset lookout ever! A good location in beautiful Xingping. Don't recommend dorms-no matress just thin blanket folded in 2. Had to sleep with legs bent (I'm tall!) Shared with couple and thier 3-4y/o baby-not too peaceful.
Signs misleading-rooftop but no rooftop bar; promo photo from private room; 'transport included' on some trips means they pay for public bus; must walk up a flight to b'rooms. Great Hostel for relaxing. If you want to party, don\'t go here because this is a place with no entertainment. Good staff, average pizza and a great view from the rooftop. Friendliest and most helpful staff we've come across so far on our visit to China. The dorm rooms are spotless and the rooftop views are spectacular!
