The location of this hostel is a little out of the way but the tradeoff is increased space, excellent facilities and value for money. Getting into the centre of town is extremely straightforward so if you are not worried about coming back late at night then this is a great place. We especially appreciated the fantastic shower and having a little fridge & kettle in our room. There is a Wellcome (grocery store) across the street so you can pick up supplies.

Bathroom needs a bathmat supplied by hostel but apart from that I can\'t think of any improvement needed. This hostel was quite a find extremely convenient, very cost-effective (including an excellent self-service laundry), perfectly comfortable, peacefully quiet (I really appreciated the sign about absolute silence between 11PM and 8AM) and very friendly. Highly recommended!

The Y-loft is not really a hostel, nor is it a "loft" at all. It's a high-rise building in a mostly residential area on the east side of Hong Kong island. The place is run like a hotel, and has a very new feel to it. While the room and facilities are nice, the location in Sheun Wang is less then desirable as its far away from all the cool stuff in Central (so you have to make the last train otherwise it's an expensive cab ride home). The staff made a minor error with our room key, too.

This place is really great value for money. However, with all the balcony facing a courtyard, we had screaming kids one afternoon, and the noise was horrendous! On the same day, we also had a bunch of kids checking in, and they were shouting to each other across the balcony. It was a terribly noisy afternoon. Other than that, it is a great place.

Great value for money! great room! its not like a hostel, more like a hotel! but I sincerely hope they would provide a smoking area rather going out of the building especially in the middle of the night

Well kept rooms, however the housekeeping would be knocking on your door at 10am unless you kept a do not disturb sign. Maybe have a "please make up my room" sign as well? Finding the lobby reception was a bit difficult. And the building has separate lifts for different levels. This was not explained by staff, perhaps a map is needed. Location is a bit far. It is right at the end of the mtr line so extra travel time must be needed.

As mentioned before, the only drawback is the distance from the city center (25 minutes to Hong Kong Central). We stayed over New Year's Eve, however, and any hotel near Central would have cost hundreds more. The Youth Square Complex it's housed in is an interesting youth development project with things like a theatre, recording studio, hall of games, and study rooms. The staff are all quite young and seem to be studying so the service is very personal and helpful, but not very professional.
