Just perfect except not free WiFi and breakfast . But, I think backpackers sometimes forget about Internet. And in this hostel, there is 24 hours drying room that is just for drying wet clothes! It's amazing.

Although it's a bit far from Ambleside city centre (15 min walk) there's a bus stop right outside the hostel. From Ambleside you can access the Langdale valley very easily! It is also right on the lake if you prefer water activities...The hostel is clean, with every needed facilities (self-catering kitchen, luggage storage...) There is also a bar/restaurant, but it closes quie early and you have to pay for breakfast. The perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the beauty of te park!!

....I have been travelling around the world for three months now and this is the most beautiful location of any hostel I have stayed throughout South America and Europe......I have stayed here before as a youth and loved it then.....as a mature adult I appreciated the care that the hostel places into providing a good experience for the visitor... Top Marks !!

Excellent location. It's very clean and well organized. I regret the expansive price of facilities : computer access (£1 per 15 minutes), wi-fi (£0.50 per.... 10 min !!)... The wi-fi in a youth hostel should be free !! And we can't have a map of the walks for free. Each service (except the self-service kitchen, of course !) is charged...

Breakfast could be cheaper, but well if you do not want to pay £5 just bring something with you as I have done.
