Very friendly staff. Good location. Rooms are acceptable. Bathrooms are clean enough. Thoroughly satisfactory. It\'s not particularly charming, but its a fine cheap place to sleep.

Good, clean, comfortable hostel right in the CBD. Great kitchen and dining area. No offer of complimentary wi-fi for even a short time, unlike many other hostels in NZ.

The hostel bathrooms always seem a bit dirty no matter what time of day you use them. They seem to need regular cleaning. Other than this, the hostel is another good YHA place.

A bit worn out, but for that price you really can't get any better. Staff was very useful and friendly.

Well, its a pretty old hostel and would need a make over. It was ok for one night, but its not relly a nice place where you feel very comfortable. It was partly quite smelly.

I felt that the room was a little tired with regards to the carpet, vinyl etc and the sheets and towels were a little old as well. H The staff were outstanding! Hostel guests smoke outside and the smell drifts in to reception.

Hostel is good. Just in the city centre, so easy to walk around. Very clean. Not a party hostel at all. If u are looking for fun. party. This is not ur hostel. Quite hostel. Kitchen is amanzing!!! Staffs are ok. Price change all the time. I spent almost 20 days and all the time when i want to extend it price was getting up. So not good. But i enjoyed it anyway.Fabi from Brazil.

The Bathrooms on the floor I was on were dirty and smelled. The Shower Facilities were only 3 for the whole floor. I asked the staff originally about the buses to the airport and they didnt give me the correct information initially. This may be based on new staff. It was near to the airport bus. But a 20minute walk as stated from Queenswharf. The Lounge area was comfortable and the night staff was very helpful. And I didnt get a lot of information on tourism daily activities from staff.

4 Bed Mixed Dorm: There is a standard you come to expect with YHA hostels and this one waves the flag proudly for YHA. Incredibly clean hostel and huge well-equipped kitchen that makes cooking a pleasure. The rooms are spacious and secure with key-card access doors and personal lockers. Staff are always happy to help and book activities for you such as the free Stray day tour (a highlight of Auckland). Only downer is the WiFi, which is very expensive considering how sluggish it is 24/7.

A good enough hostel in a central location in Auckland but somewhat lacking in character. If you are staying in the city to sightsee for a couple of days it does the trick but is nothing special.

A little ways out of the city, but easily walked (all the hostels are like this). Typical YHA, clean enough and above par for the other backpacker places! Easy access to things in the city!

Too few toilets in the second floor. In spite of this, an excellent hostel!

on returning to my room after staying at a friends overnight i discovered the clothes i had left in the locker of the room had disappeared. on enquiring with the staff i was told that this wasn't abnormal and to check the donations bin. i discovered a pair of pants and a shirt of mine but nothing else. the staff were very unhelpful and made it out to be my issue. i consider this theft as i had booked in for 3 nights and the gear was taken sometime on day 2. seriously £$%^!* off

if you are paying with cash, you'd better get a receipt. I was treated unfriendly by a receptionist, the guy looks senior and very experienced but was not really professional...wasted my time to prove that i had made the payment. actually, his colleague fogot to put the record in system, not my fault at all. it was not a big issue at all, but his manner was awful...well, don't worry, most of the staff are nice and i really enjoyed the stay there!

In general it was a very good hostel. My only complaint would be the matress on my bed, which was very thin and uncomfortable.
