This was a nice hostel. Great kitchen and eating area, plenty of space for everyone. Nice atmosphere. Prices a little high, but this is typical of NZ. We liked that the beds in the 4-bedroom dorm weren't bunks.
Nice central location, off street parking, quite clean and cheap. Large kitchen / lounge. Will stay there once i go back to Auckland!
The WIFI at this hostel is NOT FREE. There's always good food in the free bin.
We stayed at about half a dozen YHA hostels during our trip around New Zealand. They all had one thing in common: they just provided the bare minimum of what you'd expect from a hostel. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and it was a good place to stay, but there was no evidence of going above and beyond like we experienced staying at non-YHA hostels.
Had a great stay and would probably come back. There is a lack of toilet facilities, I was on floor two and there was just 1 toilet for the whole floor! And no wifi for none yha members!! Fortunately I had my own.
I've been at the Auckland YHA International hostel before and I chose it again. It's a very comfortable place to stay, just a few blocks away from downtown. Atmosphere is perfect for me, as there's quite some freedom for guests and still everything's under control. You need your key card to access the main facilities, which are kept clean and organised at all times. While there are some hostels that are good and more affordable, YHA looks a lot more tidy and cleaner than the average.
It seemed to have the feel of a place for long-termers on a working visa rather than backpackers, but the hostel had very clean showers and bathrooms, wifi seemed to work well in most places, there was a nice spacious kitchen and it within close walking distance of everything you need in Auckland so would definitely recommend this place.
Conveniently located at the top of Queen street, within walking distance of all the shops. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. The kitchen was a good size, as I've found is the case with all YHA hostels compared to most other hostels I have stayed in. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful.
was not given any sheet or blanket . internet was very slow

Good central location and excellent kitchen area. Bathrooms very clean. Quite noisy at night if you are in a room facing the road and also very hot in the rooms at night in summer but good on the whole.
Hostel is very clean and quiet.the kitchen has very nice tables.wifi cannot work .
A very friendly youth hostel within walking distance of town centre...and easy to get to from airport on shuttle.
Good location, not too far from town centre. Facilities were kept clean enough and the security was great as our room had lockers in them which you could use for free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Could have done with some activities to get people more involved but overall a good place to stay!
Not very clean,no toilet roll in the toilets,my bed lining was of poor standard, would. It recommend this hostel .

Decent hostel. Close to the centre of town. Free parking a massive bonus in Auckland, make sure you book though. Staff friendly and helpful. Not so much a party hostel like other offerings in town but you get a better nights sleep! Would stay again
Great location right next to Queen Street, good value, spotless in the whole hostel, good night's sleep and massive kitchen. Very liveable, but if you're not into large hostels, probably this one wouldn't be right, but if you want a decent nights sleep and a spotless place with decent facilities, would definitely recommend it!
This was a great hostel to stay in. Good bathrooms. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Good kitchen. And very central in Auckland. Nice 4-bed dorms with no bunkbeds.
Great 4-bed room solutions with enough space for big backpacks. 2 power plugs per room are a bit too little in times where everyone needs to charge cameras, cellphones etc. Ok bathrooms, but too little ventilation in the big common ones. Great kitchen facilities, yet again bad ventilation (not possible to open windows at all). The hostel is located nicely close to the main street, though the next supermarket is approx. 15min walk away. Great & helpful staff!
The showers and toilets while centrally located were few. The room have a very worn look and it is probably time for some of the carpets to be replaced. A free coffee or tea in the kitchen (I did not find any) would have been welcomed. limited places to power up a laptop, most power outlets were used by residents charging phones. Hostel did suit our very short stay.
Big well equipped kitchen and common room nice showers
