we arrived in Bristol late in the evening on a Friday. The YHA was nicely situated by the water with restaurants and bars. Sadly, the attendant was little help in giving directions for food late at night and was useless in giving advice on where we might have luck finding food. Further, he was seemingly uninterested and put out by our need for securing our luggage. The room smelled like wet, dank, dirty towels and vagrant. The overall impression was rather negative.

Lovely hostel, very friendly staff. Very safe with excellent security. Location is perfect - everything is in walking distance. I would stay there again!

Would be nice, if wifi was free, but otherwise, it was one of the best hotels I have even stayed at. I had to go down with the rating of the cleanliness, as when I looked under the bed, there was plenty of rubbish from previous guests...

While I understand that not everything goes perfectly all the time, I just got the feeling that this place was tired, things are old, and there are far better hostels in other locations throughout the UK. Charging for WiFi is also archaic.

The hostel is really nice. Good location, clean and great atmosphere, however, it is surprising that, nowadays, you have to pay £5 to have an Internet connection!! :( I could not have a shower with hot water because I got up at 6.00am ... quite bad ...

It's clean in general, I just think the toilet needs a bit more work!

Except you've to share the room with somebody you don't know, it's more like a hotel rather than a hostel! I stayed in an en suite with own bathroom and shower facilities. Great place to meet new people as only 4 people in your room. Excellent location in the heart of city centre, most of the attractions and restaurants are within walking distance. With all these, you only have to pay a reasonable amount of money.

Exceptional hostel, however it's a mess paying 5 pounds per 24h of wifi in the 21st century. It should be free for customers !!!

A fantastic place to stay in Bristol. Very clean and safe though not much of a social atmosphere. Long walk up to room as I was on the 5th floor and lift was broken but no complaints, staff very helpful.

As far as hostels go this was fantastic. I went down with a group of 8 people we were all aged 18yrs-20yrs. We went down to have a night out in Bristol. It is a two min walk away from all the main clubs. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. I really reccommend this place!! fully equiped kitchen also so bring microwave meals/ potnoodles!! really good value for money. only downside is that kickout time is at 10. early but i coped!!!!

Very good value for money, almost unbelievable that it was this good for £15 a night. The tap was broke in one of the sinks but it didn't matter at all, clean sheets and colourful decoration made up for it! It was also very nice to have a cuppa in the bar, to leave the luggage while we were visiting Bristol, if we come back I'll go to the YHA :)
