We stayed with our two children (aged 12 and 9)-this was their first experience of youth hostelling and they loved it. Nothing too much trouble for staff - including supplying them with Monopoly and Scrabble games and change for that table football! Hostelling has certainly changed since my student days and we all agreed that it was an excellent way to enjoy the countryside. Despite hail, wind and rain we managed to cycle for the three days and came home tired but still refreshed. Excellent!

My friend and I did have a great time in the hostel. The twin room was clean and tidy, and we had a nice sleep. The kitchen downstairs was a good help for us. The staff were warm-hearted. We also enjoyed the dinner so much.

We had a wonderful stay. Great people who really went the extra distance to make our visit perfect -- we arrived late due to snow and Emma arranged some lovely sandwiches for us. Beds were very comfortable and the food delicious. Thanks!

Great atmosphere and public rooms oozing with character. Helpful and friendly staff. I went with 2 teenagers and we found the room a bit poky for 3 of us and the bathroom was horrid. We were also quite cold - not very well heated. The car park was pitch black and I consequently dented my car as I couldn't see a thing. I think it would be a better to place to stay in the summer rather than the winter.
