+ 15 min walk from Hawkshead (pretty village), short walk from a bunch of awesome hiking trails + clean place, has plenty of amenities, e.g. fully equipped kitchen + very cheap + very helpful staff - shower had very little pressure (probably a temporary thing

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the views from the hostel are beautiful and the rooms are a good size with comfortable beds. The family loved it and we're already planning our next stay with YHA :)

A lovely part of the world tucked in a picturesque valley. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Wifi only in reception room. Self catering in another building, you have to ask where it is. Very busy, all the campers use it too, a good place to meet people. The Windermere hostel is out of town, not in Windermere, the one in Ambleside is well located by the lake. There is a bus to Hawkshead I believe.

Nice quiet location, but poor phone signal. Ideal for getting into nature. Plenty of walking trails nearby and staff are good at recommending hikes. I came here to look for a job and the staff were good on suggestions also.

Hi, I loved that there were all ages at the hostel. Families with babies and young children, students from the field centre, and the rest. Lovely location. Mrs Axtmann
