Nowadays WiFi should be included in the Price ! As every other hostel in the world offers free WiFi I wouldn't choose to stay at a YHA again.
A nice place to stay in the Lake District within walking distance of the nice town of Hawkshead, and short drives from many good hikes. Stayed in a large dorm which was very clean and pleasant, and used the shared kitchen which at times felt a little dirty but that is perhaps to be expected. Generally clean and pleasant, with helpful staff who are very knowledgeable about the area.
Unfortunately we were doubly booked. The staff were very helpful and found us another place further north in Grassmere. The hostel did look very great with a beautiful srtting.
Stunning! Beautiful old building with anything you could ever want. I only marked it down one point for security because if my fellow travellers hadn't been so lovely it would have been fairly easy for them to grab the bike shed key off the front desk and make off with a large quantity of high-end bikes.
Good value for money. Beautiful place, huge kitchen. Very satisfied
A YHA hostel is a guarantee of a good standard - a well equipped kitchen, clean rooms and bathrooms, helpful staff... Gutted I forgot to write down the recipies hanging on the kitchen wall, they all looked really interesting. Any chance I could get hold of these over the internet, pretty please?
