The room had a strong smell (like pee). The rest was perfect.

Great hostel - very clean and safe. I would definietly stay here again! Just two things to note: You have to pay separately for internet and it's quite expensive (2 pounds/ 20 mins, 5pounds/ 24hrs) and it's slightly out of the way. This is fine when walking into the city centre for sights etc but when arriving with bags it feels like a bit of a walk.

Not a party hostel, but a nice place if you just want as a place to crash at the end of the day. The staff were helpful, and the facilities were clean. Having to pay for wifi was a bit annoying though.

Main things I want in a hostel were covered - location, cleanliness & security. Staff were helpful & friendly, but it lacked the personal environment that makes a hostel warm & welcoming. The YHA is so big & run like a hotel that it cannot provide that. This is also the 1st hostel where I have had to pay for wifi - 9 quid/7 days. The bed & pillow were clean but hard. Liquid hand soap in the ensuite, & more powerpoints are required. Its a female dorm, a shaver outlet is pointless.

The hostel is really nice and even a bit posh... It actually feels like a hotel more than a youth hostel... it's clean, quiet and very well located, just a few meters off the MOSI - Museum of Science and Industry.

Will stay here again. Handily placed for Deansgate station, not too far out of the city centre and the location was in a good spot too. Useful tip for others if arriving during the day is that the MetroSHUTTLE FREE BUS stops nearby during the day(service 2 from Victoria-does NOT serve Piccadilly)or bus 33 from Piccadilly Gardens stops ndearby(every 15 minutes during the day, hourly in the evening).

The hostel was nice and the the staff members were most welcoming, though you have to pay for everything (so nothing is included with the price of the room): breakfast, towels, hairdrier and even the wifi if you wanted to connect with your mobile phone or your laptop! (the last two I think that must be included, at least...) Apart for this, its a nice, cosy hostel.

It was a decent stay, pretty much what you'd expect with the price you're paying. Paying for computer use is understandable, not so for wifi access. The hostel was clean and security was good. It is possible to walk to the city centre & other main attractions, but it can be a bit of a trek especially in the miserable UK weather. My main peeve was that you had to pay for wifi access which is ridiculous in this day and age (£1/20mins, £5 for 2 days unlimited, £7.50 for 3 days unlimited).

It was nice, but I didn't like that they charge for everything. It's more like a hotel.
