I was disappointed that the hostel tried to make money wherever they could: 2 pounds for a towel? 4 pounds for an adapter? No drinking in the lobby, because there is a cafe? All of these things are understandable, yes, but it didn't make for a welcoming atmosphere. Especially, 2 pounds for a towel is ridiculous. The bathrooms are tiny and ugly and one does not feel very comfortable in the rooms. Even though the location and the hostel's building are great, I didn't really feel well staying there

Great hostel, very clean and has everything you need! However, the bathroom was a bit ridiculous. It is absolutely tiny and when you have a shower, water gets everywhere. The atmosphere seemed okay, however I was only there for one night.

Nice clean hostel, good sized common areas, new facilities.

The bathroom as the ensuite was awful. Very cramped, did not even feel clean. You couldn't even drink the tap water. Nice location, and great that there's a bar at the hostel too.

Very kind and helpful staff. Very hard beds. Layout of the common area seems ideal for groups, but doesn't force interactions for solo travelers. The bar is on the pricy side. The hostel seems amore like abusiness than a home for travelers. Totally recommended if you're in Manchester for work reasons, but not if you're on vacation

All in all nice location being near a beautiful canal with cafe's on the bank, close to the Museum of Science and Industry and a 15 minute walk from the heart of the city. Hostel was great except: - no hooks for towels or shelf space to temporarily place things provided in the bathroom - bathroom ok but a bit out of date

Apart from a slight odour in the lift which could do with some attention, there really wasn't anything to fault with YHA Manchester at all. Excellent location and room sizes with good shower facilities, friendly staff, spotlessly clean throughout, overall providing great value for money. My sister and I stayed overnight as we had a Coronation Street tour booked and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend YHA Manchester to others. Thank you! :)

Really enjoyed my stay. Staff was helpful and got a good value breakfast would visit again

Only there for a night but clean and friendly. Seemed a bit older and the vibe was low-key. Then again it was a Wednesday.

Not the best hostel, but you don't have many options in Manchester. It was a nice location right on the canal and walkable to the main sites. Wifi is bad, sometimes works sometimes doesn't, and they know that. The ensuite bathroom was tiny, felt like it belonged on an airplane and the floor would always get wet because the shower curtain was short. No other showers on that floor. The kitchen is not the best equipped, but ok. Free tea would be nice, but they would rather sell it I guess.

A wonderful stay in Manchester! I live in a 4-bed dorm and the space is large enough, but the vent in the bathroom is noisy even if you close the door. If you don't use it at midnight, it is not a big problem.

Not the place to meet people and a bit out of the way from the main parts of town but the cleanliness and facilities are higher in quality than typical hostels. I went in December 2015 in the middle of their remodeling so none of the common areas were open and most of the main floor was off limits. When it's finished it should be nice though! They take their no alcohol policy very seriously. Kitchen is really clean and has everything you need. Staff is really accommodating and friendly.

Very nice place, great staff and good location! The unic problem was the wifi, it never works wherever you are.

Docce buone, camere belle, colazione a pagamento, wifi solo nel piano terra. Personale disponibile, cucina attrezzata e spaziosa.

Completely wonderful hostel, liked staying here, would look forward to staying here again. Only thing - lack of plug sockets! One socket in a room of 4 people is really not enough. Please get some more so I can stay here again and be able to use my phone! Staff were lovely, room extremely clean for a hostel, social/cafe bar bit downstairs very nice. Beds comfy. I found the rooms a bit warm personally. Woken up in the morning by a flock of geese flying over the canal - a great sight!

the facility is good and very clean hostel and then the staff are also kind but unfortunately the water pressure is really weak so I can't use toilet bowl well the price is good

Very friendly staff and good value for money. Showers very weak so struggled to wash my hair. Fantastic pizza served until late! Beds not great for really tall people but still very comfy.

My stay was fine, but I did not like the bathroom, it was too small and very uncomfortable, plus it smelled so bad :(
