It is a nice hostel, has everything you need but for many things you have to pay, such as lockers for the luggage and washing machines. The kitchen is clean and has everything you need to cook a meal. The staff is friendly and trying to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean. It\'s a bit far from the city center, but next to the Museum of Science and Industry and a supermarket. If your train stops at Oxford Street, get off there because it is closer to the hostel than Piccadilly

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Very clean and safe area near the rail museum. Wifi wasn't free but was only 5 pounds for 24 hours.

The only negative item was the smell in the room. Otherwise great value for money, nice staff and quite rooms.

Clean and secure. Close to all the city amenities; museums, restaurants, transport...Didn't like ensuite toilet and shower as room isn't big enough so it's very annoying each time someone used at late or early hours. Small kitchen but it's full equip and kept really clean and tidy, so people used it a lot. Not really a hostel to have party, even dificult to socialise as loungue and games rooms were too cold. Kind and helpful staff at reception though.

The place is hard to find. If using Google map, typing Potato Wharf is more accurate. The YHA is very clean and secure. The room is large and provide game room and tv room.

Good: Very clean, awesome decoration, breakfast was great, friendly staff Bad: location isn't very good, needed to catch train/metro from Manchester Piccadilly, and it took me a while to find it after getting off the train... Overall it was quite good, at least better than I expected :)

staff was rude, very large hostel, clean and well insulated so not bad nights because of noisy neighbours. The beds are good here. But this is just a hostel that is too large and too far out of the centre.

Dated room furnishings and just two power sockets between four room occupants, unacceptable these days.

I think is good if internet access would be free or cheaper.

The hostel is perched on a canal in a nicely regenerated area only a 20 minute walk from Oxford Street station. I thought it was great value for the location and the facilities (bar, restaurant, well equipped kitchen). Dorms have their own bathrooms. It is more institutional than hostels I am used to staying at but people might prefer this as you know you'll get a clean bathroom, better quality beds and bedding, better facilities and security. Staff were friendly. A comfortable stay. Thanks :)

The hostel charged additional 3 pounds per person per night because we didn't have a YHA membership card. This was not clear at the booking moment.

Located in Castlefield, one of my favorite places in Manchester. Free buses to get around the city. Maybe, there could be private rooms and breakfast included, as little suggestion, but overall, a great place to stay. Super friendly staff. Mancunians are really happy and friendly!
