Great free breakfast, clean kitchen, and quiet environment which is good for me

Great location, not really in the center but in a beautiful post-industrial landscape - Castelfield. Have been there in Oct so it was a bit empty but believe there is lot of cutural events during summer in that area. Just few steps from The Museum of Industry. Rooms clean and big enough, lockers and bathroom in the room. Just a good and old standard for YHA, you rarely get surprised that's what I like on YHA chain hostels. Free wifi on the ground floor only. Will come back again if in Manchester

I arrived quite late and the staff were amazing at helping me get sorted so I could quickly crawl into bed and have a nice sleep. Great large kitchen. Well equipped. Would stay again.

it's in the good location, rooms were clean, but the ventilation in the toilet inside the room was making a horrible noise, so at night I needed to go to the common toilet because I did not want to wake my neighbours up. staff were not very friendly. a bit expensive for Manchester.

Bedroom seemed quite clean, but the bathroom in the bedroom was quite filthy. Appreciated that each bed had an outlet next to it, even the top bunk. Very friendly staff.

My room was really spacious and i was also happy with the bed, I definitely had worse. The bathroom takes some get the used to because if you take a shower the whole bathroom floor gets wet. In the beginning the wifi wasn't working, but the staff was really helpful and fixed it. All in all a really nice hostel, i would book again!

This hostel is a very nice place! Centrally located, very beautiful area, extremely friendly staff, nice rooms, lockers for everyone in the rooms, nice common area and very clean! For 5,25 pounds you get a really delicious all you can eat breakfast :-) What I didn't like so much is that one has to pay for every extra service like towels, printing or lockers when you want to leave your luggage after checkout and computers (wifi is for free, though, but only available in common areas)

Positively surprised how good value for money YHA Manchester turned out to be. Free parking included was a big bonus! I would recommend for management to alert the council to the unpleasant rubbish floating in the water outside though, I counted to 10 used needles amongst the debris. Not YHA's fault / responsibility, just a friendly tip.

Fab stay at the YHA Manchester - price was amazing value, rooms were nice size and very clean. Staff were only too happy to help, particularly when I needed a spider removing from my room..! They went the extra mile. Free wifi, great kitchen facilities and all very clean, friendly people. Loved my stay and would definitely come again - many thanks

The staff was so nice and helpful! The hostel had a mixed crowd of young people and older people/families so it was pretty quiet at night. It was also a 15 minute walk from the city center so it was easy to get around.

This hostel is clean, accessible and in a super nice location. However if you're a lone young traveller I wouldn't suggest it as the age demographic is a bit older and family orientated. Definitely wouldn't suggest if you're planning on making young friends to get a drink with

Manchester YHA feels like its in a national park and is an exceptionally good sleeping facility. Geese, major flocks of them, consistently use the waterways associated with the houseboat canal directly in front of this imaginatively located hostel as a very popular natural aircraft carrier landing pad, to their unending delight. Plus, just minutes east of Manchester, looms indeed Peaks District National Park, massive moors and deep forestry visible on a quick day-away.

very nice place. but there are only two plug receptacles in 4-bed room, and the washroom is a little bit small.
