Worst hostel ever. Receptionist unhelpful. Electric plug-in the room not working. Wifi not working.

Prison-style atmosphere, remote location, cleanness far below from what you expect from a modern backpacker hostel. At least this is partially reflected in the price, however only partially. Dear YHA Ostello per la Gioventu Genoa, there is room for improvement.

they should have provided free wifi...

They did not have wifi and could not recommend a specific Café to find wifi but instead circled general regions on a map. The wifi in town (which was a long bus ride down the hill) was spotty at best and it was extremely hard to find cafés with wifi. The staff was nice but the lack of wifi made things extremely difficult. It is also in the same building as a preschool so get used to banging and yelling. And you have to pay for breakfast, which was average. The price was not with the stay.

Difficult location very far from the centre,no WI FI!

Was not impressed with this place but it is the only hostel in Genoa without a curfew. No free wifi here which is unfortunate with only one computer. Location is poor, must take the bus to see anything. Lockers did not work. Even with a lock on mine I could still open it.

We cancelled our stay due to other commitments but the staff replied promptly and professionally. We will most probably book with them the next time we consider a trip to Genoa.
