The breakfast is overpriced for what you get. Shower dribbles water. Clean spacious rooms with lockable storage in room is great.

We had to open the window because we were hot (even though it was not a hot day), but being next to the railway line meant we were therefore woken up by trains a lot. So maybe some air con would be a good idea.

I was greatly disappointed by the YHA Oxford. It is quite characterless, and while the rooms were passably clean, the bathrooms were a mess- wet floors, dirty... While the entry lounge part was quite appealing, everything behind the double doors (kitchen, lounge, bedrooms, bathrooms) was both indistinct and in need of a good clean and some TLC.

The hostel booking and reminder service is excellent. The hostel is well located, close to the centre of Oxford. The bed linen and room was very clean. However, the bathroom could do with some attention - the shower curtain smelled slightly, the hot water tap on the sink basin was inclined to drip and the shower control was very stiff and difficult to turn on and off.

It would have been better to have free internet connection and free towels.

It was perfect for our one night stay, just what we needed. Although, the shower room could do with a bath mat as it was soaked and pretty disgusting by the time the last person got in the shower.

A little bit far away from the city centre. Didnt feel like a hostel, more like a guesthouse

A pleasant youth hostel where I have stayed a few times when in need of a bed in Oxford. A bit far down from the city centre (other side of the railway station) but Oxford is not a huge city so it doesn't matter so much. I like the library - a nice cosy room where you can sit in quiet away from the bustle of the lounge.

Our room was a bit dingy but the beds and sheets were clean (which is what matters most). Conveniently located right beside the train station and within walking distance to all of the main attractions in Oxford.

great value place to stay close to station in Oxford - room overlooking road kept quiet by two layers of double glazing (except for banging on the main door and shouting on first night from someone locked out) - basic 4 bed room had two bunk beds, en suite just ventilated into the room which was a bit odd - linen provided, take your own towel, we also took travel kettle to make tea in room - parking in Oxford very pricey - Seagate Park & Ride is on the same road, 15 minutes walk, and costs £1.50

Spent one night here in a twin en suite room, which met all our needs very well. Didn't spend much time in the hostel or using the facilities as we had a late night out and an early morning, but the sleep that we did get was pleasant, the room was a good size, and the en suite bathroom was clean and convenient. While the building itself is pretty characterless and unattractive, little touches such as framed information about the area in rooms and corridors made a big difference.

If you are visiting Oxford, there is NO WHERE else you should stay. It is right next to EVERYTHING (literally a 90 second walk from the train station) and is extremely convenient for your short or long stay. It is worth every penny and the atmosphere is really nice to hang out in when you aren't exploring the area. I will 100% stay here the next time I visit Oxford!
