Nice hostel, quite far away from the city centre, but well walking distance. Beautiful place to stay and ideal base for travelling and exploring Land's End and West Cornwall. Staff was really friendly and helpful, facilities and rooms were great. I really enjoyed to stay there!

Souless place really. Staff put the hard sell on you when you arrive. To borrow a towel cost £2 and other charges for anything extra you wanted. At 10am on new years day when everyone was waking up all of the toilets and showers had signs on them saying closed for cleaning til 12pm. Why shut the toilets and showers at peak time for 2 hours?? Also the electronic cards to access the rooms were always failing, meaning many trips to reception to get back in the room.

The hostel is a beautiful property, but we got there in the evening with some help from the bus driver. It was hard to see where to go in the dark. We obviously made it, but should have had a flashlight with us. We had a great breakfast and enjoyed the evening in the lounge area. We also made use of the washing machine and dryer available.

While it is a bit of a walk, I found it easily enough when arriving at night and without a map. It was comfy with nice showers, internet was a bit expensive but I enjoyed my stay overall. I would recommend it.

The YHA Hostel in Penzance is in an old mansion, and has been very nicely re-fitted with all-new bathroom and bedroom fixtures. The beds are comfy, and the whole place is quite clean and well-maintained, as well as being very welcoming. Paul, the manager at the hostel, and his staff are fun, friendly, helpful, and a joy to deal with. Thank you, YHA Penzance!!

The hostel and the staff are very good. The only thing that I didn't like is that they charged us an extra payment for a temporal membership of YHA and on Hostelworld there is nothing noticed about this. Breakfast was awesome but we should pay extra money for that too. If you want internet access, you should pay extra... and so on. not fair :(

Very nice and tide, but quite expensive and far away from the town. The dining room of the guest kitchen is really sad. Need more lights and new forniture.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything in the accomodation is fine. The problem is the location of this hostel, it is very hard to get there during at night because there is no streetlight on the road. Luckily, we reached there after getting helpful guideline from the YHA staff. Make sure you have all the contact number and full address of Penzance YHA.
