YHA Taupo Reviews

The Hostel is really great, the staffs are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I had a great stay. I recommend it.

It seems to me that YHA hostels in New Zealand don't do anything in the way of organising events for the guests. This would have greatly increased the score that I gave.

There's no lockers in the room and you can pretty much hear everything from everywhere -- outside your room, in the kitchen, and from the streets. The beds are comfortable, the linen provided is great, and it has a nice lake-house vibe to it. It doesn't have a lot of amenities but it has wifi, which is good enough for me. They were good about cleaning the place. YHAs are always reliable. I would recommend it over Base.

Very clean hostel. It's set outdoors and can be a little chilly going to the toilets at night. Great location with only a short walk to the Lake and o the city centre.

room was a bit small, but big kitchen and patio outdoor area. had fun there, 5 mins walk to the town

It would be good if you could provide a closed gate at the entrance to the car park area. It was sad that the spa was vandalised by outsiders possibly as there is no security gate.
