Excellent kitchen, best I have seen in a hostel. Small rooms though!

A good all round place. Just needed lockers for bags and free breakfast to be really good.
Fantastic place, great view from common room on the lake, Sean at the reception super nice and cheerful, nice people to chat to, peaceful and quiet, cleanest kitchen I saw in whole NZ so far. Made to my top list of best hostels ever. :)
Nice thing about this place is that the female dorms have a bathroom and a kitchen
Stayed in a 6 bed dorm with ensuite bathroom. The room smelled like pee, and the sheets weren't all that clean. No nightlights for the individual beds which is very annoying!! Did have plenty of plugs though. Also the big kitchen in the main building had everything you needed and more. Noticed they had movie nights every night which seemed cool even though we didn't go.
This was by far the nicest friendliest and cleanest of the yha's, would recommend Wanaka yha to all my friends planning on headin to New Zealand. Wanaka is such a lovely town with plenty of things to do
Great Hostel, One of t e best I have stayed in. Really comfy beds and great Atmosphere. Organised movie nights a great idea.

Really great location & clean large 4 bed dorm with own bathroom. Couldn't fault it.
Would be great if the wifi was included as part of the accomodation and not a separate cost.
We returned to our room one day to find ALL the windows WIDE open! It was not only freezing but totally irresponsible of the cleaner. We were very lucky our belongings had not been stolen as they were in plain view and reach through the now wide open curtains and windows. Be aware of irresponsible/non safety thinking staff.
Great hostel: fantastic view of the lake from the common room, with a new wood fire to warm up. Kitchen is very good too, although being closed between 10:30am-12 is annoying for later risers like myself. The rooms were great too - en suite with a mini kitchen, plus tons of shelves & hooks for books, clothes etc. The staff are really friendly, and the long termers staying here are (for the most part) pretty cool as well. Close to New World supermarket and other shops/pubs/walking trails.
