Likes: Staff , lots of options what to do, many cool people, large common areas, supermarket across the street. Dislikes: The linen did not look clean. Lockers cost money.

Excellent stay. Foam mattress in room 617 was a bit squishy and in need of replacing. Everything else was just right. Good value for money.

The staff were very friendly and it was an enjoyable stay. Only problem is the water pressure in my room was very poor. It was like bathing under a water hose.

Friendly staff and quite clean, due to excellent city location a little noisy (street noise, depending on which way the room faces). The room (double, in our case) was very small, not much space to put anything if you arrive with more than a toothbrush. WiFi reception is poor in some rooms and throttled to 100kBs

The bed is not clean, tissues left over from last person. Table in the room is not tidy and clean too, there are some green mould in the cup which gave really bad impression. Other than that, service is good! :)

Very average hostel, but too big for character or a feeling of cousiness. Decent prices

Well a more or less typical YHA, which always seem pretty commercialised in my opinion. Staff was helpful enough, location within walking distance dowtown and to plenty of restaurants. Kitchen could have been cleaner, room and bathroom was good. Internet 5$/24h. Parking 7.5$/24h, 10 min away.

Kitchen was closed when it should have been open. Not much personality. The other two people in my room checked in at 3 am which I think shouldn't have been allowed in a room that was full of other people. You can't store your luggage and have to pay for lockers. Not impressed

I always stay in thi hostel because it is so central, close to shops, restaurants and entertainment. The staff is very friendly. The only problem I had when I stayed recently was the bed linen, which did not look very clean. I even thought it has not been changed. The prices of this hostel are comparable with motel prices; so there is no excuse for the bed linen being in such a poor state.

This was one of the nicest hostels in which I've stayed. I booked a female four-bed dorm and ended up sharing with only one other lovely lady. The room was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom and a crazy view of the harbour. The YHA location is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Luggageroom was too small, so I had to pay a lot to keep my stuff in a locker the day I had to leave, because I had a late flight. The bathrooms were not very clean, and neither was the kitchen. With filthy sponges and greasy cutlery. This is also the first hostell I have stayed in where you had to make your bed yourself upon arrival.

The hostel is close to Te Papa museum, supermarket and Courtnay street and a ten min walk to Cuba street. The reception desk was very nice and helpful. They book our transportation and followed up with the agency when they were late. Just an FYI, the airport is less then a twenty minute drive.

The hostel was good value for money. Its location is good near a supermarket and close to the city centre and the seafront. Above all, it is a clean place to be with large and diverse rooms: kitchen, dining, reading room,... The worst was something the hostel may not do nothing about it (or probably yes). We stayed in a room with other 4 people that, after waking up at 5.30 they left all lights on and didn't bother to close the door without slamming. That was a pity.

Location was convenient, room was big enough. Curtains were mouldy though, duvet had dirt marks on it, there were hairpins from previous occupant on the carpet and there were no towels. The bathrooms where clean, but the water temperature for showering was only just luke warm.
