Really good hostel in the city. However, I've never been to a hostel where you have to put on your own pillowcase, top sheet, AND bottom sheet. Also, no free tea/coffee/sugar. Decent beds, clean facilities, good shower pressure, great TV room and reading room, 2 nice kitchens, and pretty quiet and comfortable. Not a super social atmosphere, but everyone is relatively friendly.

I stayed in a few hostels in Wellington and this was my favourite. Awesome kitchen facilities, tv lounge to chill in and good quality wifi. Very close to the supermarket and easy to walk to most places from. I was able to get a cheaper hostel so chose to only stay a few nights, but would be my preference if it was a little cheaper. Also preferred the atmosphere to other hostels because people were friendly but it isn't a part hostel and isn't noisy at night.

Directly in front of a supermarket and very close to Te Papa, the location is excellent. The rooms and the hostel itself is super clean, it often feels more than a hotel. Wonderful and big enough common rooms and kitchens well equipped. Enjoyed my stay very much!

The location is excellent as it is in easy walking distance from the bus stop if you get the airport express bus number 91 into town from the airport, cost is $9.00. There is a large supermarket across the road if you want to cook and save money, Wellington is a great place to eat out and there is a wide range to choose from within walking distance.

Stayed here for 1 night - was really happy with it. Clean and good facilities. Some long term people in room :-/ But otherwise really good location! Plenty of space in dining areas etc. Would recommend!

I loved YHA, so if i can do a suggestion it would be nice if people can extend their stay up to three weeks maybe.

Right beside a grocery store. Good distance from mt Victoria. Rooms were clean. Beds were decent. Bathrooms were clean. Great common area. Staff were helpful. Parking was about a10 minute walk. They used to have an activities coordinator who was really helpful.

This hostel was quite quiet and in a good, central location. Cleab restrooms and dorms. Good value for money and the staff were helpful and recommended some good activities.

Please remove the promise of a shuttle to the train station, since this does not happen any more. It's one (of many) reasons I booked this hostel, and I was disappointed to find out it was false. Also, the kitchen is a little bit small for so many people, especially since staff also use it. Otherwise, I was very impressed with the hostel's organization.

Good hostel close to city centre. Staff is friendly and happy to help including contacting taxis to take you to airport. Rooms are comfortable, good size, with big lockers big enough for a backpack and plugs inside the locker so you can left your mobile charging and leave the room as it is safe. Lifts are quite quick and reliable. Wellington is a nice city, dont miss a free visit to the parliament

Best location you can get. Clean, quiet, free wifi, well equipped kitchen, two elevators, nice view. Lot of activities to choose from. One of the best hostels.

First YHA I've stayed at where they won't store your luggage at checkout. Disappointing. Good stay otherwise.

One of the best. Spacious rooms; helpful staff; perfect location; plentiful and clean facilities; large well-equipped kitchens; reliable, free Wi-Fi; good atmosphere. No weaknesses, good throughout. Would thoroughly recommend. Give the Welsh Dragon bar opposite the hostel a visit and ask for the rarebit - exceptional!

Hands down, the best Hostel I have stayed at throughout all of my travels, and I have been around Australia, NZ, Korea, England, France, Germany, Italy, and the U.S.

I stayed in a private room - second time here. I though everything was at a very good standard except my room was very warm during the day and it was difficult to air out. Common areas could do with a little more lounge space in the evenings

Nice big YHA, wifi was free but patchy, lots of facilities and two big kitchens. New World across the road and 5 mins from Te Papa museum
