This is one of the best hosetel i\'ve ever stayed. For the good environment and cleanliness, and also the convenient location, which is near to the Courtney Place and Cuba st, what\'s more, right next door is New World, so u don\'t need to worry abt transportation. I\'ve had a lovely time there :)

Really liked our stay at the hostel. Sheets were clean, beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen was a good size, and well equiped aswell. Only problems we had were with our key, you cant put it anywhere near anything with a battery. It cant even go in your handbag near anything or it stops working. Other than that it was a perfect YHA. Internet too expencive as with all YHA's.

Good, clean and comfortable, only there for 12 hours. New World supermarket right across street. Staff member on checkin was helpful in arranging Ferry Shuttle for the next morning. Downside - many school groups seem to use YHAs and the teachers seem to think it's ok to use up the whole dining room even after the kids have gone to bed.

Although its a big hostel I would say it has a really nice atmosphere and the kitchen is really good as its big and a lot of kitchen facilities are provided. TV room is very nice as well. Its a very clean hostel. The dorms are ok. Location is also very good right next to a supermarket and Te Papa and Chapel Street and bus stop. Its not a party hostel though. In total I can definetly recommend this hostel.

Nice size room. Clean. Comfy beds. Excellent kitchen. Could do with lockers (at least a small one for valuables) in room.

There's free wifi at Te Papa museum, just around the corner, so don't pay for it at the hostel. Kitchen was great (gas!), rooms had enough space, shower head was completely useless. Not much atmosphere, but then YHAs are generally like that. A bit more lounge area would be good, and a new lamp in the projector! Excellent supermarket just across the road too, which makes life easy. Overall, it's a hostel and it ain't too bad.

Fantastic location, spacious dorms and spotlessly clean bathrooms. Atmosphere only lacking as not that many people staying there at the time. Only thing I'd change is the bunk beds... just so there's enough room between the top and bottom bunks to let you sit up!

It was all good except for music blasting out from pub across the street till 6am Friday and Saturday nights.

We have stayed in 3 hostels in Wellington and YHA is the best. Good location right near supermarket and not too far from Cuba street (is a bit of a walk from interislander ferry). Kitchen was nice and kept clean. Good general atmosphere and the double rooms were reasonably large.

Good hostel! a bit quiet but nice to have a good night of sleep.. You guys should allow a stay longer than 10 days, I will say 30 days max stay so people can know each other a little bit better.

I enjoyed my stay at YHA Wellington and I would definitely come back. I do recommend that place. The staff shouldn't eat in front of the customers. Free Internet would be widely appreciated.

Very good hostel, clean, tidy and my room was very spacious. I stayed in a 4 bed ensuite and in other hostels they would have tried to squeeze 6 beds in to the same size room, was very nice to have a bit of space for once. The bathroom was nice too, very clean. I didnt use the kitchen or longue areas as i was only there for one night so i cant comment on that but overall i was very impressed with the place. The location is very good too, pretty much opposite the museum

PLEASE do not use bio-degradable washing powder in hostels - it results in smelly and VERY dirty laundry. This stay was definitely not worth the money.
