Luggageroom was too small, so I had to pay a lot to keep my stuff in a locker the day I had to leave, because I had a late flight. The bathrooms were not very clean, and neither was the kitchen. With filthy sponges and greasy cutlery. This is also the first hostell I have stayed in where you had to make your bed yourself upon arrival.

The hostel is close to Te Papa museum, supermarket and Courtnay street and a ten min walk to Cuba street. The reception desk was very nice and helpful. They book our transportation and followed up with the agency when they were late. Just an FYI, the airport is less then a twenty minute drive.

The hostel was good value for money. Its location is good near a supermarket and close to the city centre and the seafront. Above all, it is a clean place to be with large and diverse rooms: kitchen, dining, reading room,... The worst was something the hostel may not do nothing about it (or probably yes). We stayed in a room with other 4 people that, after waking up at 5.30 they left all lights on and didn't bother to close the door without slamming. That was a pity.

Location is good

Location was convenient, room was big enough. Curtains were mouldy though, duvet had dirt marks on it, there were hairpins from previous occupant on the carpet and there were no towels. The bathrooms where clean, but the water temperature for showering was only just luke warm.

Staff at reception were incredibly friendly and efficient.

Okay, so it got everything you could ask from a hostel. Awesome facilities. But, for me as a single traveller it wasn't a great experience. Hard to meet people, and everyone is into their "own stuff" i.g. smartphones and computers. Guess I just prefer smaller hostels with more personality. With that said, you won't be let down, and the staff is friendly.

We booked two rooms for one night: one with ensuite and one without. The rooms were small but fine for a short stay. The ensuite was opposite a pub (on March 17th) so we had some night-time noise as well as traffic noise but it wasn't bad. Inside guests were quiet. The hostel is within easy walking distance of down town and interesting streets like Cuba.

Great place to base a stay in the Capital. Dissapointing to see so many visitors buying bottled water. I would like to see filtered water available in the kitchen

Good, clean hostel with friendly staff. Close to Cuba Street and Te Papa Museum. Stayed here twice and would stay here again if back in Wellington.

This hostel was great and a good value for your money. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom was on the complete opposite side of the floor from the room I was staying in. In addition, there was only two bathroom stalls and two shower stalls for an entire hostel floor. The kitchen had everything you needed and was kept clean. Having the hostel in the heart of Wellington was definitely a plus.

I think the hostel needs to focus on some sound proofing.. you can hear everything.. even whispers from other rooms.

it's more a hotel than a hostel ... very big, but very comfortable + big rooms, clean, facilities (2 kitchens, small library, tv-room, pool-room), ensuite dorms, good bed - bad internet connection, no lockers

Great location. Our twin bedroom was small but good. Very helpful staff. It is unfortunate that the door lock makes a noise every time you close the door no matter how quiet you try to be.

Fantastic hostel. Great location, really good facilities (pool table, two huge kitchens, incredible TV room) and very clean, with very helpful staff. It's a massive place so it feels a bit lacking in character, but that's a byproduct of being in the capital of New Zealand so you can't really fault it for that.

This is by far one of the best hostels i've stayed in through out all of Australia and New Zealand. The beds were comfy, the staff friendly, lots of space and supplies in the kitchen, clean, safe. It even had little luxuries like hair dryers and straightenrs in the bathroom. The tv room was a little hot and sweaty, but still not bad...seating was limited but it was nice and dark and had a homey feel to it. farther from bus station than expected but lots of transport nearby.

This huge hostel is more like a (budget) hotel and is super well-equipped. The location is also pretty good, as it is right in front of a supermarket and at walking distance from the main sights. There are all kinds of guests, from school kids to elderly couple, so sometimes the common areas can be a little... weird! ;)
