We came to Whitby for a short weekend trip and loved the small village and its harbour. The location of the hostel is brilliant. It's right next to the Abbey and as a guest you get a free entrance ticket to visit the abbey. We got a very warm welcome by the staff and the facilities were clean and cosy. We would definitely recommend this hostel. See you soon. :)

Like all YHA the hostel is superb. The hostel is clean. Staff are excellent. You may have to climb up 199 steps to get to the hostel but the view is amazing. And you are right beside the abbey. There is a place to put your wet stuff.

Getting worn

Location is amazing, right next to the old Whitby Abbey, in an almost equally old and fascinating building. Staff went out of their way to be helpful with bikes, luggage, etc. Room was very clean, lovely bunks; breakfast (an extra 5 pounds) was extensive and plenty. Perfect.

The auberge is beautiful, its view is too pretty, the room and shower room was just fine, activities in yha whitby was good, the price of the breakfast was good or the quantities, but the wifi is not free and for me it's a bad point :(
