I had a great time at YHA! Not many people around when I was there but very friendly atmosphere. Nice and clean, with plenty of lockers in the rooms and personal socket for charging. Off in the sticks a bit but that was nice in its own way (beautiful setting with views of the lake). Staff generally helpful- ask them for advice on hiking trails.

It was an excellent hostel. It has a very beautiful view, it's clean and the breakfast is delicious (but it is not in the price). It is about 10mn from the bus station by walk but it is not a problem because the landscape is very beautiful. It was mostly families who stayed there (we were one of the only students) but it was still quiet

very nice location .., fast service, booked myself into the hostel in couple of hours before arrival, due to bad weather in area. great, helpful staff , facilities excellent value for money!

This hostel is not in Windermere, and requires a bus, then about a mile-long walk to get to, but it's worth it. The facilities. hospitality of staff, comfort of beds, and most of all the view are worth it. There are a number of easily accessible walks from the hostel, and other treks are just a bus ride away. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

All around a great place to stay. Loved the location, do be prepared you are not in the actual town, which suited me just fine. You could not beat the views. The trail maps they will give you there leave much to be desired to make sure you do your own planning. Nice kitchen space for cooking. Small fridge space, but all and all it was great. Staff was very friendly, and more than happy to help you with what they can, although sometimes they were hard to find...
