it is ok apart from the hostel is quite far from town center, but if you dont mind walking, actually it only takes about 25 to 30 mins along the two big bridges. It is ok and fun to walk in a summer night.

I thought this Hostel was very nice! Here you get what you are paying for and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and simple, the kind of rooms you expect to get in a Hostel. It was located around 30 minutes from the center of Avignon and considering I am a person who enjoys a good walk every day it suited me just fine! So I just want to say thank you for a nice stay!

The staff here are super helpful, the views from the rooms are amazing, and there's an excellent balcony with an amazing view where you can have your meals, overlooking Avignon. The walk from Avignon to Villanueve is a bit far, but there is a bus.

I stayed there in low-season, so I got a very quiet hostel, great for having a relaxing time. The food was ok, the room was warm enough despite the strong Mistral.

A bit dead in the winter, might be good in summer though. The buses stopped running at 8 pm so i had to walk from the station and it was a very long walk across a windy windy bridge! No kitchen but staff let us use bowls and cutlery. Patrick was the best! Thanks for the good chats!

The place had a deserted look to it. For a large facility for a round 150, there were only 5 or so travellers there. The location was bearable but is a bit hard to find if you become disoriented at any point. The place had very old facilities. The sink in my room was permanently plugged, and would not drain. The toilets also have a dirty look to it, and had a 'rough' floor covering which traps dirt, even if it prevents slipping. There is only one computer for people to hire,.

Despite that it was in the middle of winter when I stayed at the YMCA in Avignon, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Even when I had a problem, they were quick to help resolve it. The view of the Palais des Papes and the Rhone from the terrace was excellent, in particular during sunset. I enjoyed having the view of the valley whilst having my breakfast. The walk over the bridge to Avignon is not bad at all. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Recommended? Yes!

My room was comfortable and clean with ensuite bathroom. Enjoyed the jug to make a cup of tea in the cafeteria. The view was stunning across the Rhone River to the old city and distant mountains. For me the location was a bit isolated having to walk across 2 long bridges to the city. I did not have a mobile phone with me so I was worried about walking, or ordering a taxi to catch an early train on departure day. I decided to move to a hotel close to the railway station for the last night.

Kind of a bummer, all in all. The staff is friendly and kind but the place is simply too far away to really feel "in" the city, despite the decent public transit. Also, the rooms are barren, bare, and exceedingly institutional in their feel. No wifi in the rooms either, and a general vibe of no-fun-for-anyone abounds. Still, that pricetag is pretty attractive. Only go if you're desperate to save the cash.

Don't know if I was just there in the wrong season, or what, but that hostel was miserable. Way out of town, staff nowhere to be found, no hostel organized things (walking tour, pub crawl, sight seeing outings). Not a good place at all.
