Excellent place, all was cleaned and tidy, the people is kind and helpful, I recommend this hostel
The hostel has a very small kitchen and is always very dirty. Old food and dirty dishes everywhere. The livinrooms for watching tv or reading were always full of people and late at night was very noisy because of drunk people in the aisle. The room has really noisy beds. You can not move without weaking up the person on bed under you. One of the worst hostel i have ever been
Great stay in YMCA Christchurch! Clean, quiet and cozy amenities. Truly relaxing when staying there! $5 for unlimited wifi a day.
Only stayed for one night as stopover between buses. Excellent location in Central christchurch-perfect for us getting bus across the road but would be great for sightseeing as right opposite gardens, museum and isite. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Kitchen was pretty dirty and so had to wash up everything before we used it but this is probably more fault of other guests rather than the hostel!
You should put sponge in the kitchen to keep hyigene.

The overall stay was great, however the room service didn't clen my room for two days even after I put the sign out to do so.

Clean, helpful and friendly. No climbing wall though.
The twin room was great but the kitchen could be better. It is too smal and not very clean. Th cleanliness is not the fault of the staff, but the students who stay there.
Not enough power points in the rooms... Difficult when trying to charge your phone and camera.
Good hostel but atmosphere in the hostel was horrible. Felt like a boot camp rather than a hostel. Wifi was a bit iffy but facilities and staff were nice so can't complain too much. Wouldn't stay there for more than a night or two.
I stayed at YMCA just for one night. Everything was as I expected: descent.
Squeakiest, shakiest bunkbed set I've ever slept in. Couldn't move a muscle all night for fear I'd wake the whole dorm. Location-wise it's very handy for transport links, but very little atmosphere and not a nice place to chill out in.
Staff were very and helpful. Good on site with gym and a cafe. Stayed in a triple room which was spacious and clean!!
Brilliant location for bus transfers but that's about it
Not the best value for money or atmosphere we found in Christchurch.
I stayed in the 10 person dorm it was like I was in army barracks! I think it would be nice if they could put up pictures or paint the walls different colors
Great location, great staff, great facilities. Beds are a bit unstable and a very low ceiling means you are getting a knock on the head if you're on the top bunk.
Nice hostel to say. Because it's so big atmosphere is a little bit off. For the rest very clean, helpfull staff, a lot activities in and around christchurch. And a good exhibition about street art until may 15
