The kitchen/lounge had a cooker and TV that didn't work. Switching on the electric kettle caused the hostel electricity to cut out. Garbage bins were unemptied, the one shower was a dribble, and there was no toilet paper. The guardian was friendly and helpfu when I spoke to himl, but he seldom appeared.

Excellent stay, I highly recommend it Sona

The place is in a nice location, does not have an elevator, the wifi works, has a big kitchen, the bathrooms don`t have a shower curtain so anytime someone showers its impossible not to make a mess: a very simple thing to amend. Its clean enough. Carmelo, the owner its not usually there, but he was ultra sure to be there around the time of the check inn, and was ultra nice. The rooms, specially the dorms that are bigger get cold in winter. Overall a very nice place, I recommend it.

This place has a very good location, but is not satisfying in all other aspects...

It is what it is: a homeless shelter in the heart of Valletta. Excellent location, easy to get to and away from, main bus terminal is an easy 10min walk and connects to everywhere on the island. Room was very hot, kitchen was good, bathroom was dirty, no security, no information, same price as other much nicer hostels in nearby Sielma. You pay for location.

Had a wonderful stay. You really live in the center of malta. Everything you need is just one 100m away. Using public transport is also no problem. You can get everywhere from valletta. The owner is very cool and you can get everything you need. Just call him!! I will defenitly return.

It is a shame because the Hostel has an excellent location and is very spacious in the rooms, however it seems as if the washroom door has not been fixed for years. It is a heavy wooden door that we should slide, but because it is not oiled regularly, one girl got stuck inside a few times. And the place really needs to be cleaned and it would have so much potential.

Stayed 3 nights in the top floor 2 person apt in early October. Nice place but a total lack of staff. The location is great, just a few small blocks off the main squares and only 10-15 mins from the islands main bus stop. Facilities were adequate to relax and make yourself meals in the apartments (though no air con so be warned if you go in high summer). Staff were nonexistent, being never around or requiring you phone them to get them to come over from elsewhere.

Had no problems finding the place at night & friendly staff were there to check me in. Just used it to sleep & shower for the 2 nights I was there, but there was a big kitchen next to the room. Security was good. Very quiet. Had one other room mate the first night and three the second.

The positive thing about YMCA hostel is its location in the city centre of Valletta. With regards to security, the main door is more or less always opened, but there is another door at each different section, so that is not so much of a big deal. In fact, the less positive thing of the hostel was rather its being not very clean: the sheets and the towel they provide hosts with were not clean and were not being changed on a regular basis.

Staff is never at the reception, you need to call him even for check in. No breakfast, also I've got dirty or used bed linen, so it's very expencive for that kind of service. Absolutly not recomended.

Very well located in the centre of Vallette, very nice and helpful staff. The only problem is the lack of good ventilation in the room, as it was very hot in Aug.

Ok so it's a homeless shelter and when i found out this I was really worried. No worries though, lovely dorm which i shared with 3 lovely girls, kitchen/ living area in the middle between the dorms on its own floor. Bathroom needs a lock but if you knock its ok! very homely. felt very very safe and welcome.

Good value for money; if you have no intention of staying in (except for you bedtime) don't even search for anything else; cheap, easy to find, conveniently located, not crowded... perfect

The staff were not in the office most of the time so I don't know how to contact them for help when I needed. The bathroom/toilet and rubbish bins could have been kept cleaner.

Had the private room with kitchen and bathroom. Was very hot (as it was literally on the roof) and kitchen extremely basic.

Excelente situación y lugar tranquilo, quizás un poco de limpieza y mantenimiento diario necesitaba el hostel tanto en lugares comunes como en los apartamentos.

the Hostel was empty so kind of scary

Sheets were dirty, there was some litter under the bed

There were little bit problems with cleanliness of bathroom/toilet, but not so much. Otherwise everything was ok, mostly location, but keep in mind there are no cheap supermarkets in Valletta, only little bit expensive small groceries with basic commodities.
