The rooms are very small and they kind of look like prison cells. My friend stayed in a different room from mine and he had some issues with the heater, fridge, window screen, and room lamp. It's not the worst hostel on the planet but you get what you pay for it.

For one or two guys this place is fine because it\'s cheap, but it looks like a prison, the fridge doesn\'t work, the heater doesn\'t work, the windows are old, the elevators are squeaky, the paint is peeling, there are exposed pipes, it\'s poorly lit, the beds are old, community bathrooms have only 2 toilets and 2 showers. Don't stay there if you are expecting company and don't bring a girl there.

heating did not work, blanket very thin, quite a cold night :) also hot water just intermitently. I haven't noticed any common room or so.

A rather basic, but OK hostel in a nice neighborhood. The building, unfortunately, has the atmosphere of a shabby old dorm, a renovation would be great. Rooms are basic, but clean. Staff friendly. No wi-fi, only computer room with slow computers. The Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall are a stone\'s throw from it. Downtown Boston is ~15 min. with public transportation. Overall, I\'d go back because of the good location and the inexpensive price.

So disappointing. Shabby, unpainted, tiles cracking and worn. Downtrodden and sad. And I work at a YMCA! Greater Boston YMCA needs Habitat for Humanity. I lost pride by staying there.

You can't beat the price for a single room. The location is excellent, in the center of the action. If you want quiet, this is the place to go. It's not a traditional hostel, but you can use the pool and sauna! Great staff, I will be coming back soon.

I still don't know why my reservation was mysteriously canceled but the staff did take care of me. Ante rooms to the showers, even if only with curtains, would really be nice. At least get curtains that really cover the showers. The 4AM fire alarms going off when the heat kicked on really wasn't cool. Otherwise, nice and cheap alternative to visit Boston. I'd do it again.

You might want to clarify room numbers and signs near elevators. I had a hard time finding the room: the key said "100" and it was on the third floor, room S-1, I think (near Huntington, 2nd rm. in, facing NE, in that group of 6 rooms)
