We had a spacious, clean room and the beds with sheets were clean. One window a little bit broken but it didn\'t matter. Location was perfect, close to Panera, Donkin\' Donuts and Starbucks and not even 5 minutes to the subway. Walking distance to parks, bars and restaurants. The only thing we were wondering about was why the men\'s urinal in the girls bathroom were used and not very clean.. But, we would stay there again!

I would have to say that this hostel is very poor to say the least, i will never be staying here again. There have been a few reviews that have said that there were a lot of homeless people hanging around but i think they are residents that use the YMCA as a cheap form of accomodation and their accomodation section is seperated from those travellers that use the building as a Hostel. They have about 5 computers for the entire building which isnt anywhere enough.

I was happy with my stay. There appear to be several hostels in the one building, and during the summer months a Northeastern University residence is opened up - that\'s the part where I stayed, in a single room with a shared gender-segregated washroom. It was clean, the rooms are cleaned when guests check out. The building had a reno in the 90s. The gym downstairs is mostly new and included in the stay. Wireless internet is available one block away at Panera, Uno\'s, or Starbucks.

It would be nicer if the room has air conditioning for summer. And about the women bathroom, what if the urinals are removed? It looks gross and we (women) never use it. One more thing, what if there is a bottle filling station in each floor, or at least, in front of the front desk? Thank you.

Very satisfied. Basic yes, of course but we paid $30 a night. I honestly have no idea what people expect for that. You see cleaners all day and security guards; you can use the gym; you can pay a deposit for a fan; the atmosphere was always convivial. Heck, they even supply clean sheets and pillow cases, towels and lots of soap. The location is perfect - walk downtown in 20 mins, next to a uni and music school so lots of cafes and very safe, 2 mins from the T and 15 mins walk to two art museums.

Great value and location for money. The comments complaining about facilities are probably just not used to the standard what you get when you pay 35 bucks per night. Great place for less picky customers. My only complaint would be about the public computers - when we were there I think i saw the same guys sitting at the computers 24/7. No chance to get access on your own. NB! If you bring your own computer, using this in room requires your own internet cable

If you want a place in Boston just to rest your head for a couple of nights, this hostel will do the job. In case you're wondering, no, the showers aren't communal (that is, there will be only one person in each shower at one time), nor did I see any homeless people there (in fact I hardly saw anyone during my stay). Also, while they do load up rather slow the computers in the PC room are more than fast enough for Web browsing. And the price and location are hard to beat!

This is the 2nd time I stayed at the Boston YMCA. Last time, they only allowed minimum of 2 people in each room. I was by myself, and I had to pay for two beds. This time, they allowed 1 person paying 1 bed, pretty good change.

The location of ymca is great! 5minute walk to the green line subway station. The staff at ymca is very nice but the facilities are very poor and the hostel doesn\'t have enough blanket for customers. The night at boston is cold but the hostel doesn\'t offer sheet.

Great spot if you are looking for a clean place to stay and have your own room. The location is right off the Green line and 10 minute walk to Fenway Park. Art Museum is about a three minute walk. There is a free gym at the Y as well. This is more a of dorm setting and not really a hostel.

The hostess Sandra Overshown sent only one mail to tell us that our reservation had been canceled and only one day before the day that we had the reservation. She was no kind and she yell us and she did not solve the problem.

No wifi. The computers in the lab are very old and slow. The toilet and bathroom are shared by too many people some of them indeed reside there as lodgers. Good only if you enjoy adventure. I checked out after the first night.
