This is the nicest place we've stayed in China. Very peaceful, beautiful room and friendly and helpful staff. Would come back. Nice walk to and from Yangshuo. Away from hawkers and noise in Yangshuo. Limited number of rooms makes for peaceful and not busy seeming surroundings. Good for those not looking for a party hostel.

This was an amazing place to stay, in such beautiful surroundings. The staff were really nice and helpful, and spoke really great english. Wi-fi is free and works very well. They have a restaurant with good and reasonably priced food. There's bike-hire for 20 yuan per day, and they can help you book all sorts of activities. And if you don't feel like doing anything, you can just relax at the Inn. Our room was large and clean. The only bad thing is all the insects, bring insect repellant.

I can't recommend this place enough. Why stay in the centre of busy Yangshou when you can stay in a little village out of town amongst the paddy fields and karst hills. It's easy to get into town by taxi or bike. The surrounding area is beautiful, there are some great walks and bike rides. The food at this place is excellent, I recommend the Dutch breakfast. We stayed in a non a/c room and loved the converted farmhouse feel. There's no decision to be made, you need to stay here!

The Outside Inn was a great, outdoors place to stay. The staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was great! It is a bit far from town (1 hour by foot), but you can cycle during the day or take a cab (30 Y) day or night. The hostel can rent you bicycles (20 Y / day) and book trips for you - for example, kayaking was a great way to explore the river in a relaxed way (200 Y). Only downside: some of the rooms had an "earthy" odor, and low shower pressure. But all in all: a great place!

We had a fabulous stay here and would have loved to stay longer than our four nights. There is plenty to do and the staff are so friendly and helpful!

The staff were great and very helpful when we wanted to book events and in giving advice. The only small downside was that the room seemed slightly damp and the bed covers were a little damp. But overall a lovely place that we would recommend.

Highly recommend it. Being a bit out of town/West St was a great thing. It's a lovely bike ride to West St anyway, so better to be staying in a semi rural settting. Great starting point for other bike rides too. Staff were very friendly with excellent english. Cook on site is amazing ! Only thing i would suggest for improvement would be if the Inn adopted the same one child policy as China...the place was over run with children!! Tho this was likely due to the fact it was over Easter break.

The Outside Inn was an absolutely lovely place to stay in a village outside of Yangshuo. I also stayed in the city for two nights, but preferred the countryside. This charming inn was the perfect retreat! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If I get the opportunity to travel to Yangshuo again, I will definitely stay at the Outside Inn!

Amazing renovated farm outside of town. Great location that is very chill. The staff was extremely helpful and the Dutch owner kind, helpful, informative, and fair. Quite reasonable and family friendly (though we wern't a family). We are totally planning on going back to bike and hike in the area soon and plan to stay at this place again. Lastly, the food was quite sutable for vegetarians.

My husband and I loved staying here. It is a bit of a ways out of town, but we had no problem getting taxis to take us out to the hostel or back to town (30 kuai each way). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Arranging tours, bikes, and food was easy and convenient. Everything we did was just charged to the room and we just paid for everything altogether when we checked out. They take visa and a russian debit card. Our room had air conditioning/heating, but not all the rooms did.

Really nice area, best location ever. Staff friendly, food ok, but not the best. We got a deal on hostelworld otherwise it's a little bit expensive.

A great guesthouse in an old farm house located 10 min outside of the city. The atmosphere there is great, with a restaurant that serves great food and a cosy fireplace. Rooms are tidy and well-equipped, staff is supernice. Maybe the most charming and best value place we've been to in China, highly recommended!
