Great hostel. Very friendly staff. The showers were terrible but the rest was very good.

A good hostel, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and the place had a good feel about it, about a 5 minute walk from the city centre, this is a good hostel to base yourself when exploring Chongqing! The Lockers in the dorms were fairly small though, just big enough to fit your valuables in!

Really nice hostel anbd really nice trip that they arrange on fridays. Get to have cheap local food and then walk it off after. Make sure you have mosquito spray there are alot in the main seating area. At night go down to the water front its so lit up is lovely.

The room was very old, dirty and smelt bad. The staff was semi-friendly. Annie was very helpful about directions. The food was expensive, didn't taste very well and the portions were small versus the cost. The wi-fi worked sometimes in the room, and in the lobby it boggs down after about 8pm when everyone is using it. I didn't enjoy my stay at the hostel I wouldn't stay again or recommend it to others. The area is terrible, noisy (hence, the ear plugs) and hard to find. 2 thumbs down.

Staff were very accomodating. Double room was huge! Big bottles of Chongqing local beer only 8RMB at the bar. Location is great right along river and in a very old style china feeling to it despite being a 5 min walk up the hill to the center of downtown.

When you first arrive in Chongqing you want to leave immediately. But when you arrive at this hostel, it is another world. The hostel is centrally located. Only downside was that our door didn't close properly (double room). The staff was excellent, very helpful and friendly. (especially the small girl with the glasses, sorry, we didn't get your name!!). She helped us to book our bustickets last minute, even went with us to the ticketshop! This made Chongqing a beautiful city we won't forget.

We were only at the Hostel for a brief stopover, so I really can't comment much about the hostel itself. The room was clean, although we had a room on the front of building facing the street, so it was a bit noisy. The staff were helpful in checking us in at a late hour and checking us out at an equally early time. They also provided travel information as requested, but without the hard sell. Overall a good experience.

Staff very helpfull, located next to Chaotianmen (700m) and Xiaoshizi light rail station at the top of a quite hard steps. Rooms are cosy but you have to tell them to clean it, and hot water (but also the cold one!) doesn't work weel. The construction of the Dongshuimen bridge is on the way just in front of the hostel so if you can't stand noise during your sleep go elsewhere, but on the whole the place is quiet.

Expect charming staff, with clean, yet somewhat small (tiny!) rooms. Location is right on the waterfront, however don't expect crystal blue water... This is China remember! A 15 minute walk up a series of stairs to get to the town centre. Good facilities; free pool table, free computers, nice cinema room and lots of seating in the bar area.

The Yangtze Hostel is an absolute gem! I stay here every time I visit CQ. They have great food (the bacon sandwich is my favorite) and it's a common spot for expats to have a drink. The building itself is really cool, all modern facilities but in a traditional Chongqing stone building. The rooms are simple and very comfortable, with good heating in the winter and A/C in the summer (a must!) The staff speak great English and are so friendly--they'll help you with anything! Wonderful hostel :)
