I stayed in a private room, which was spotless. The room had air-con and a great bathroom. The hostal also has a restaurant upstairs, which served excellent food. Remember though, this place is practically in the middle of the jungle - a guy I was chatting to who was staying in a dorm here said he put his hand in his backpack one morning and was stung by a scorpion. The staff are really friendly and helpful and I could not recommend this place highly enough.

Its an alright place, not too much atmosphere. Our room was a little square box with 2 small windows. We arrived on an overnight bus and they didn´t check that our room was ready till 3pm. The had said that a couple were still using it however turns out they hadn´t bother to check and it had been sitting vacant. Also no hot water to speak of.

It's clean, but the toilets are a bit old. The staff is really friendly and will help you if you need anything.

Great location and facitilities to help organise various tours with their friendly staff. Great place.

This place is located in the touristy La Cañada area, which is about a 5minute walk from the town or 10mins to the centre. It's a good, quiet location. The staff were very helpful and the dorm rooms very new and clean. There was no breakfast included.

We had a room with a double bed. It was clean and had a good size. Also the shower and the bathroom had a good size. they had two computers for guests, which could be used for free (with internet of course). But the best is the jungle like and really well-kept garden. The receptionists did not speak english, but they were quite friendly and helped with everything we asked for.

We booked a twin room private ensuite.It was very spacious.The surrounding garden was very nice.We only hadn't expected so many other hotels to be around.At night it was a bit noisy from the city probably,but it might have been because of the time of the year-just before christmas.The food in the restaurant was delicious.

The staff was friendly and i felt very secure with my belongings. Were were a group of 8 traveling from Oaxaca to The rivera maya and this was our 4th stop. We just used this hostel to sleep and to leave our things in the room so we wouldnt carry it with us to palenque. the next morning we did aguas azules it didnt give us enough time to make to our check out time, at 12. They had taken our luggage and put it in their staff room and didnt charge us late check out. They were very kind.

Temazcal was great!

The hostal has a fancy website but lack the follow through. They put us in a new room, which was surround by the rooms that are still being built, thus we woke up to hammering and sawing every morning at 7. The double bed was covered with a single sheet, there was a used soap and random hair hanging on the wall in the shower, and remained there (even after they cleaned the room), till I removed it. The second day we were there they didn't even clean the room. For the rest it was okay.

Had great time at Yaxkin. In fact am going back there because everyone is so friendly & the vision of the place to become a unique eco-healing hostel is wonderful. At the moment they are trying to expand the hostel to be able to include more visitors & therapists for eco-residencies so one part of the hostel was a bit of a building site. They are working hard to complete as quickly as possible, but there are always space & accommodating staff close at hand, & soon, even better facilities!

We were ROBBED. The side gate is left open so anyone can enter the grounds without passing reception. Our room-mates let a stranger into the room, neither they nor we were told about security bracelets - only after the ROBBERY - so the staff don't know security arrangements. Also, WiFi doesn't reach the rooms, the superior dorm door doesn't shut nor the toilet door, the mosquito nets are torn. The dorm was very dirty too, and was not cleaned once during our stay. Bad hostel.

Terrible, awful, horrible, the room is slightly bigger than the bed inside and... you have to share it with coackroaches.... hygene is very poor and privacy doesn't exist. No hot water in the showers and public restrooms are often dirty. They'd better care about primary aspects than propose bizarre collateral activities such as maya massage! The staff is not particularly kind and the backpack locker is charged!!!
