The hostel is very nice, close to the mot interesting things in Yogyakarta (Kraton, Malioboro...). Plus the staff is very friendly, always there to help you and overall, not expensive at all. Instead of staying 2 days, i spent 5 days in total! I was feeling like home. If I come back to Yogyakarta, I will definitely go there!

Once you've stayed in Casa de.... (Yogyakarta Backpacker), you will not forget this! I was told it is a backpacker paradise, and honestly I am very suspicious to such recomendations, but in this case I have to agree. The service was wery friendly and helpful; resonable price for accomodation, the place is clean and has a good atmosphere. What could be improved: internet connection, and the staff could learn a bit more of English. I really enjoyed the stay there and I would do that again.

The earlier you book, the cheaper it is and is cheapest with hostelworld.com. The hostel has posts on how to get to and very near the bus station to Borobudur and Prambanan Temples by public transpo, which is very good thing for solo travellers like me. It is far enough from Malioboro street to have a more quiet, less crowded space. The hostel also offers car for rent at reasonable price. I went to Solo-Sukuh-Cetho and Sangiran Museum when I did. All staff is also very helpful & food is good!

Overall it was a decent place to stay. The bathrooms were a bit disappointing. They smelled very bad and we did not know if it was from the bathroom itself or the water. The food however, was amazing and I would highly recommend eating breakfast there!

The hostel was quite far from the city center (15min walk to Malioboro, 30 to the train station) in a quite neigbourhood, with 2 mosques next door (1st prayer at 4:30am!) Very good value for money, air cond 24/24, the staff was nice but not always very helpful (only one of the girls spoke English, she was excellent, unlike the others...) Dont buy the organised tours from the hostel, it's much cheaper to buy them directly from a travel agency.

The shower was flooded all the time, there were never toilet paper in the bathroom, we didn't get own keys so we couldn't lock the door to our dorm. One night when we got home there were three men sleeping in our beds (a girls dorm). The staff didn't know anything and could hardly speek english. It's cheap, that's the only good thing I have to say about this place.

Fine dorm, nice big beds. Aircon in the dorm. Walking distance to the kraton. Only disadvantage: it's right next to a mosque.
