***MUST READ*** We booked to stay at the York Commercial, but when we EVENTUALLY found the hotel, the unfriendly staff took an age to inform us that we were actually staying at the Xiangzimen Youth Hostel. HOWEVER, the manager there, Jack, was extremely helpful and friendly and the Xiangzimen Youth Hostel was very nice with a great bar and cafe, which came in handy as it was raining for most of our time in Xi'an.

Promised pick up did not happen. Borrowed broken umbrella, wanted to charge for me breaking it.. Was not possible to find, map shows hotel 1 km to the side from real location, room was not really clean, full of hairs on the floors. I would recommend NOT to try breakfast! On positive side, you could see they try hard, just skills are not there.
