It's about 30 minutes from the beginning of the park but it takes another 30-45 to get into the valley. DON'T use GPS to get to the park, literally just take a right out of the hostel and stay on 120 the entire way! The hostel owner was great! Very nice and gives you a tour. He even upgraded us from an 8 person room to a 4 person room which was awesome! The place is as clean as one would expect from a hostel and you can be as social or not as you want to be. The saloon for drinks and food!

we had an amazing stay at this hostel. if you're happy to accept hostels for what they are, you won't find a problem here. the kitchen is really well equipped, there's a friendly vibe (Lee who works on reception is lovely and so fun!!), and it was in a good location in groveland (right next to pizza factory and an ATM) and a 5 minute walk from the bus stop which takes you directly to the visitors centre in yosemite valley. the town is also great and we had some crazy nights!! lots of love xxxx

We stayed in the hostel before we drove through yosemite. For one night it was totally ok. The staff was friendly. There was only restroom for a 15bed dorm - which would not be such a big problem - if the toilet woulf flush easily. All in all ist was ok and a very good location to go to the park (40min. To the entrance)

Groveland is a lovely quaint old town outside Yosemite. Good location if you can't get anything inside the park. We just stayed one night so weren't there long enough to really meet anyone from the hostel but it felt like most people were just passing through. The hostel had 5 showers and two toilets, but just one sink so there was nowhere to wash your hands beside one of the toilets. Kitchen facilities were good and beds were very comfortable. Staff seemed lovely and helpful.

Great base for Yosemite - about an hours drive from the hostel to Yosemite village. Fairly basic and not much happening at the hostel, but mainly cause everyone is up super early to get to Yosemite! Kitchen area is a bit cramped considering - it does get beautifully cleaned every day, but gets messy quickly. There are options for eating out close by though and a local bar which is worth a visit. The staff I spoke to were really friendly and helpful

It's a decent hostel. Surprisingly comfortable, however it's an hours drive into Yosemite. Best value for the cost in the area, but the location is still troublesome if you want to spend a lot of time in the national park. There are also no lockers, and the toilets are either outside or you have to wait a long time to use the one bathroom in the ten bedroom dorm.

Basically camping but with a bed. No AC, luckily it was cool enough at night outside to cool down the inside. Spiders and bugs everywhere but that's due to the location, I just feel like the pest issue indoors could be handled a bit better. The location is about an hour from Yosemite valley which is great. Staff was friendly but unhelpful when it came to a party being thrown in the room next to mine one night.

It was alright, but very hot in room but could get very chilly at night. Also shower worked in extremes either really hot or really cold. Recommend having a few at Irondoor saloon to help you sleep.

Great base for Yosemite national park in terms of value and close-by shops, etc. Great staff, very clean facilities. It is a little drive to Yosemite Village and isn't a 5-star place so this needs to be kept in mind. Staying closer to Yosemite is extremely costly and the eateries within the village are notoriously busy which means you'd have to time your hikes around them if you want to actually be served a meal! Didn't have this problem staying in Groveland. Would definitely stay again
