Good place to stay since its in the middle of the 5th distric of Paris. Too small stairs to climb, poor cleanliness in the showers/toilets. Great place near some local restaurants & bars.

The location of this hostel is great, it is a lifely street and the next metro station is nearby. The staff was always friendly and talkative, that made the atmosphere quite nice there. The dorms are clean and ok. They only thing I didn't like was the cleanliness of the showers and the toilets. Unfortunatley there are only 4 showers/toilets, so it was a bit busy in the morning. But all in all, the hostel is nice and the price is good.

The lack of bathrooms is a bit of a pain, as is hauling luggage up the narrow spiral staircase, and the computers desperately need to be updated. The place is fantastic overall, however. Great location, decent breakfast and a cool vibe to the common areas. Also, being able to buy alcohol on site is a really great when you're meeting other backpackers.

Good location near a metro stop, within walking distance of Notre Dame. It's along a street filled with bars, so is definitely not quiet at night. There are also only a few showers and three toilets for 28 rooms (I'm not sure how many people are in each room, but there were 10 in mine). But they did have hot water and the bathrooms were clean when I was there.

What we got for a double room was shoddy - just a very old, dirty and used mattress (not even double size, it was one of those one-and-a-half ones) with sheet that wasn't big enough to cover the mattress, two blankets and a sink. The place was filthy, the shower and separate toilet equally dirty. It's loud as there's no insulation to stop sound travelling. And you have to pay for internet?!

Although not a luxury place, for the mpney you pay it was a really good place. Everyone was friendly and gave us everything needed for a fantastic trip to Paris. If you're not interested in staying in luxury, and want a fantastic location and atmosphere whilst staying in Paris, I would definetely reccomend this place. Young and Happy, exactly what it says on the tin.

The location is awesome, very nice street with lots of restaurants and student bars. Good bar across the road. Wifi is very expense, there is no free internet. Two computers to use, but also expensive. Kitch is small and I could only find one microwave. Doors are ok. The showers are dirty/ mouldy and the doors don't shut very well. The staff are really friendly and really good at showing you around.

The hostel is very conveniently located, but there were a few problems: no lockers and disgusting bathrooms.

Barely a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms for the entire building, top rooms have ceiling leaks, showers have one button. Great neighborhood, good staff, but lacking in basic amenities.

it's a great place. Nice talkative host and Hostess. great central place to visit Paris and to enjoy this kind of open air market that you find in the South . Many tasty restaurants and lots of shops around..

Young and Happy is in a fantastic location. We rented a private share which was tiny. But at least the mattress was a double and the heating worked. the blankets we HAD to use looked like they had never been washed and the sheets were dirty. The staff suck. to say the least. very impolite, especially in the mornings. the location is great. i really have nothing bad to say about it. but the showers and toilets are feral and it's not very clean. so it's up to you to balance out what you'd prefer

Rooms were never cleaned despite the lockout. Even just emptying the bins would've helped!
