This is definitely not Ritz. The room (twin) was dirty and the showers were moldy. Then again, for the money you spend this is a good deal. Located near a metro station and a quick walk from the RER station that takes you to the airport. Next to a busy pedestrian street so you can expect some noise.

The hostel it self was nice, and the staff was very informative and helpful, however it was a nuisance to have to carry all of our luggage up to the fourth floor and only be able to use a bathroom on the second floor.

The free luggage storage room and staff were very accomadating. The bathrooms were very disgusting and could use a good cleaning. It is on a busy and fun street if you are looking for a place with cheap food nearby and good night life.

I have never had a bad hostel experience, but this one was appalling. Our private room had mold all over the wall by the window, we were given one pillow for two beds, our sheets were old and had holes all over them, etc. The worst part was the bathrooms - 2 toilets and 4 showers for the whole hostel, all completely dirty and disgusting, covered in mold. My boyfriend and I paid just over 40 euro each for the room, meaning that we paid about 85 euro per night for an awful stay. Not worth it.

Young and Happy hostel was in a fantastic location. Near a lot of restaurants and the metro. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We met a bunch of amazing people there too. Breakfast was good. The bathrooms were pretty dirty though.

Does not assign beds, just rooms. Bathrooms are overrun with mold, four-story climb to the toilet or shower if you're assigned to the 5th floor. There are nice members of staff, overshadowed by the rude and truly incompetent ones. My friend "locked" her $5000 camera in a locker, found the locker slightly open the next day, got a shrug from staff (who had checked to see that it was locked the day before).

There should be more bathrooms. Overall, my experience was very good though. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

The Staff is ok, all of them speak english and are kind. The location, Latin quarter, is perfect. It's close to the main things you have to see in Paris, full of bars and creperie. Very good nightlife! Lots of students and tourists.. The bad things are: the cleanliness is almost absent into the rooms and a shower and a wc for 6 rooms it's not enough! Above all if the wc is broken and you can't use it! Therefore I thing the price is too high for the service.

Paris is an expensive city and I will say that Young & Happy is located in one of the best neighborhoods, however, the staff were a bit clueless. The showers were also very small and not the cleanest. For the value, it was a decent hostel, not sure I would stay here again though.

Nice hostel in the Latin Quarter, close to Metro and a few nice sights. Had to pay for WiFi which was a pain because it didnt even work sometimes. Good as it gets for a bed to sleep on, despite the price.

It's too expensive for what it is. And it's awfully small, not very clean, with no sense of one community. Showers and toilets are just bad. And you have to pay for the Internet, which is actually ridiculous in the 21st century. Good thing is breakfast is included and it's actually really nice. Staff is polite and friendly. The hostel is situated in a good place.

I would gladly go back there!!!! The staff was really nice; the leisure area is good, and the Quartier Latin is quiet nice. Definitely a good choice!

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, GREAT location, decent breakfast. Cons: Bathroom situation, there happened to be a leak in our room when I was there I was only there for a day and had no luggage so my stay was perfect! Just what I needed. I could see how if I needed to use the facilities more, it would be a problem. Also, if you're not a sound sleeper, I'd bring ear plugs. The streets get a little noisy.

Fantastic location in Paris, near tons of restaurants, bars, shops, markets, and Metro. This place, however, is filthy and cramped. The tiny spiral staircase is difficult and scary. The bathrooms are impossible (only 5 toilets for 50 people), internet is not free (and there's always a long line), and there is NO security. No lockers or anywhere to put your stuff (though the staff let me use the luggage room). Staff is friendly and multilingual. Breakfast is very good.
