Security could be better. The main door was open for anyone to just walk in and there were no lockers in the rooms. However the location was excellent.

This hostel really need to scrub up hygiene wise. I wasn't expecting much from the shower(in the dorm ensuite). But still I was bitterly disappointed. The showers were small and very dirty. Inside the shower there is this hole on the ceiling that revealed the drain works, interior etc. on the day I checked out I noticed that the pillow cases were not changed after customer. Upon taking the pillow cases out I discovered some horride inners. But good location etc. just how much you can put up with

Great location in Latin quarter on main street with cafes and bars, and helpful staff, but very dirty showers, and bad wifi access

The location is simply perfect - in the middle of the quartier latin, surrounded by bars and restaurants, within walking distance from the Seine and Notre Dame. It's really easy to meet new friends and hang out. The staff are really nice and helpful. Bad thing: very few toilets and showers, which could have a few more facilities = cleaner, more hangers, shelves. The good parts absolutely outweigh the bad ones though.

The hostel has three barhroom stalls for like 50 people! Thats really bad, so obviusly bathrooms are very dirty. Besides that the ubication was fine! And in a very good neighborhood.

My partner and I arrived at Young and Happy with considerable trepidation, having read some pretty scary reviews about the cleanliness of the hostel. We were pleasantly surprised to find friendly, helpful staff and perfectly clean beds and toilets. The only real downside was the showers, but the main problems were cosmetic - they could do with new paint etc. but were clearly regularly cleaned (a comment which could apply to the hostel as a whole). Our stay was excellent and we will be returning.

Very helpful and friendly staff. 8-person bedrooms aren't great for a good nights sleep, but that's to be expected. Great area within walking distance to Ile de la cité, and decent breakfast definitely recommend!

Decent hostel in a nice area. It's close to lots of good, low cost places to eat at. Not many showers or toilets but I never had to wait for a shower.

The staff was very kind and friendly but unfortunately the hostel was dirty and unpleasant. They have too few bathrooms/showers for the amount of rooms, and these bathrooms where both very dirty and badly maintained. The rooms are small and the blankets were also dirty and full of hair.

Great place for a single traveller. Room was mostly clean (but with 8 people to one shower, it can be difficult to maintain). Would definitely stay here again, as it is within walking distance of Notre Dame. Staff is awesome and know so much about the city. Most of them speak English very well. Highly recommend.

The loaction is very good, but the facilities were not clean at all. One was not allowed to stay inside between 11 and 4 due to cleaning, though i never noticed any cleaning took place in the hostel besides the emptying of the trash bin. Too small amount of toilets. In the girls' room there was hardly enough space for all suitcases. The staff was not really friendly either. I have stayed in plenty hostels in my life, I m sorry to tell, this was the most unsatisfying hostel I have stayed in.

The hostel has a friendly atmosphere and is in a great location. The cleaning staff was always working hard but some rude guests left a mess in the toilet downstairs...

I had a blast staying at this hostel. It's in a wonderful location, very interesting people, and great atmosphere. While it lacks on the cleanliness side a little bit, it makes up for in character and a pretty cheap stay in Paris.

Amazing situation where we can meet amazing people. A little bit small but when you're young and happy it doesn't matter.

This is a wonderfull hostel! I really became impressed, I didn't expected so much from a hostel witch look likes kind a old in photos. The staff was great so the Internet, the cleaness, the room... The breakfast was totally good, there was nothing more or less. I liked the price too because the location, that is perfect, so I didn't spend so much with metro, and when I had to used, the lines were very good/ useful. I totally recommend!

There was an excellent staff member from Portugal, very helpful and friendly. The others were ok. Good breakfast and great location. Had some problems with bath. If too many people have a shower before you, there might not be any hot water left. Also if you don't have clean roommates, the bathroom can be a mess (this is for shared bathroom rooms only).

Very clean, amazing location, cheap, the stuff is cool and always available to help in multiple languages. A good place to rest and a good base to see Paris
