the price was unreasonable. the rooms were terrible. staff was friendly, but this is not a good choice - for chiang mai accomodation. there are many better places.

This place was good for us as we wanted some space to ourselves in a good location, but don't stay here if you want to meet other guests. The rooms are large, quiet and modern. The dude at the desk pressed us to buy his tours but when we went with someone else he lectured us at every opportunity about how we hadn't listened to him and got ripped off. He should have given us the deal straight off like the other operator and we might have gone with him in the first place! Very annoying.

It was great value for money, the room simple, clean and quiet, the staff speaks English and French. Located on a small street very close to one of the main streets and the east gate, a very nice street with a lot of small cafes and restaurants, cooking schools and yoga classes are 5 min away on foot. The owners have a really cozy cafe in the yard, good food, low prices, fast service. They also have another GH, which is much cozier for 600+ Baht, all wooden and spacious, on the same street.

Our review is absolutely depending on the room you get. We had a pretty good room for the first too nights but had to move to another room because we wanted to extend our stay. The first room was very nice; clean and quite big. The second room wasn't clean at all and we could barely turn around. It was ok for us as the 2nd room was cheaper but we'd booked a different room in advance if we knew about that before. Maybe that's the reason for the big variance in the reviews of this guest house...
