The hostel claims to have a bar. Correction: the hostel IS a bar. Your "key" is a piece of paper that you show to the bartender to buzz you in, although they never once asked to see it. There are no locks on the doors WHATSOEVER and you have to pay to rent a locker. To top it off, a male hostel attendant came into the women's bathroom while I was in there late one night, unlocked the door on me, and started yelling at me to get out of the hostel. Good location but everything else was horrible.

Great and helpful staff, clean toilets and rooms, great atmosphere. Overall one of the best hostel stays I have experienced.

The security system was meager: it prevented external concerns but rooms had no locks. The lockers were weak, too. The 2.50 breakfast was garbage. The atmosphere is smoky, dank, and unfriendly. Not that good of an experience. The staff insulted a friend of mine. If you can help it, stay elsewhere.

The location was great. Staff was very helpful and attentive. The rooms were quaint. The female washroom was surprisingly very clean. We also met some great people in this hostel. Definitely recommend this place.

The location was GREAT...made going out to explore the city without a map and then re-finding the hostel extremely easy. The staff was very helpful and courteous as well...gave us recommendations and maps (and a laugh or two)! The barrel storage lockers were also very convenient for our group, since there were 5 of us. My only complaint...not enough airflow in the 18-bed dorm room--I wish there would have been more windows or partitions throughout the room to break up the beds.

Location is on red light district, but always crowded and noisy until midnight. The lockers in your room must be hired, no kitchen. Common room is a bar

The location was perfect! Super close to Centraal Station and everything we wanted to see. The bar, breakfast, and smoking room in the hostel were super convenient... and it was one of the cheapest hostels! Definitely a great time

Cleaness and convenience was really good. It'a located in an all-nighters' district. I stayed on cold Wednesday in May but there were always someone 'enjoying' the night out loud on the street. Expect ot to be louder in Summer. I was dead tired & had no problem sleeping at midnight. Most of hostel users in the same room didn't come back hostel til early morning. Prepare some gear like some night cap alcohol, eye mask & earphone if you aim for better quality rest.

The best part about this hostel was the location. It was a five minute walk from the station, and is in the Red Light District which makes going out much easier. However the atmosphere of the hostel itself wasn't much to be desired. The beds and bathrooms were clean, but don't expect anything too flash. And the staff weren't overly friendly or helpful. In other words, twenty euros was too much money to pay for a fourteen-bed dorm.

Extremely central hostel and great if you only want to use it to sleep. If you don't mind walking up a lot of stairs, using old oil drums as lockers, and getting used to there being no locks on the door, it's perfectly fine! But if you do your research there are some amazing hostels in Amsterdam with a lot more character than here! Not bad though!

Stayed at 18 beds room. Great location, near Central station. The room I got was facing Damrak street, so I had view from the window. No room lock. €2 for the locker. The cleaner threw away my towel which I put on the bed frame after I checked in. I guess it was partially my fault because the previous person which occupied the bed have not completely checked out on that day. So when the person left, the cleaner who cleaned the bed thought it belonged to the previous occupant and threw it away.

You get a great deal with the 18 room but a lot depends on your bunkmates. I had a great time and found the people there helpfull.

This hostel is in a damn good location, right near the train station and red light D. However, everyone in the city, and hostel, just get all stoned and its tough to socialize. It is nice being able to smoke in the hostel though

Close to the station,........ evening staff very good, morning staff less so. Breakfast poor.

Baths always clean, toilet paper always there, very nice staff and facilities. The security protocol in the night is a little old and annoying but it works so I think is ok. Rooms are ok and the beds as well but the "lockers" are just huge cans, like petrol cans especially modified to put your stuff there.
