Upon arrival I was a little shocked at how basic the hostel was in terms of facilities, including the lack of phone chargers in the rooms (you have to charge them in a communal area by the bar), but you realise that this is a cheap, good value for money hostel, so you can't expect luxury. After settling in I really enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and cheap bar/food. It's also in a perfect location and for the price you pay, I'll definitely consider visiting again.

decent hostel, best thing was probably location. close to centraal station and red light district. facilities are so-so, our room was pretty cold at times. one outlet per room. the communal area is a bar downstairs. it was okay for 14 euro a night, would recommend for cheap, basic accommodation in amsterdam.

The one really good thing about this hostel is the location it's really a 3 min walk to the central station and other tourist attractions are walking distance away. However the fact that the wifi didn't work anywhere but the first floor bothered me a bit since there was litterally no where to sit there in the evenings when everyone was using the bar, also in the morning people ate breakfast there so kind of not good. Lockers they provide are metal barrels 2 euros to rent. Staff were friendly.

Nothing wrong with this hostel. Pretty good. Great location. literally just a few minutes walk to red light district and some sweet kebab shops. Bummer that the internet is only available in the bar downstairs and was a bit tempermental. had to log in all the time. Great security if you rent a locker(barrel). The guy on reception at nights was really cool. He got involved in a game of poker (which i beat him at to his surprise). Nice place to meet people and do what you do when in Amsterdam!

It is very inconvenient for people to do all the charging in the shared area.

one guy from the staff, the indian guy really rude, they don't clean the room regularly, internet connection too bad, and there's no way to charge your mobile inside the room.

I had a great stay here. Good staff, perfect location. I'll be staying here next time I'm in Amsterdam.

Security: Anyone can enter in any room, all the room doesn't have key. Location: Very good, 2 streets behind Red Light. The worst thing is that there's lots of streetsellers. Staff: The girl in the reception is so helpful but the old man with redhead is not nice. Anyway is better he keeps playing his candy crush. Facilities: Wifi only in the bar, which isnt great. There is no socket in the room, you have to go to the bar. Locker costs 2eur. I'll never get back there.

I had a great stay, the hostil is in the perfect location and walk distance from everywhere!!! Being next to the metro station is a plus! Full bar and the bathrooms were kept very neat and clean!! The rooms don't havd locks so that's an issue, I stayed in a 8 bed room with 5 other friends so not a big problem if traveling in a group! My last night there I had 3 Germans steal from me! Once I found out the owner came in and solved the problem and left me leaving happy. Young men were arrested!

No kitchen which was a little annoying because we stayed for 6 nights, and only one plug in the entire room. But otherwise the location is great, the staff is really nice.

Beds were very comfortable. Security sucks, anyone could come in from anywhere and into any room. Atmosphere was okay. No outlets or wifi in the rooms. Breakfast not free. Good for just sleeping in a good location. Not enough bathrooms.

Strange place, I really didn't like it. No place to have your suitcase with you in the room, mine was two floors downstairs in an iron barrel. The smell of marihuana was omnipresent, I didn't like the space for all so I tried to escape out of the hostel for all the time.

Great place! The front desk workers/bartender were friendly and helped in any way they could. The location is unbeatable, literally a one minute walk to the center of the Red Light District, and no more than 15-20 minutes to any other touristy attraction. We didn't use a cab or train once! The bar is nice with outlets available and reasonably priced drinks. There's a smoking room in the back, yet you can smoke in the bar area past 1 am. Overall, a perfect place for a young group traveling to AMS

The hostel bar is a great place to hang out before going out and the hostel itself is right in the center of everything. It's a quick walk to attractions, such as the Anne Frank house, which is great. However, the wifi doesn't work in the rooms, there are no plugs anywhere, except the bar, and the quality is just okay. Hostels need to have good wifi and plugs for travelers-it's just necessary. The lack made things extremely difficult for our group.
