You get exactly what you are paying for! Good hostel, nice staff, good atmosphere with the bar and the smoking area, well it could've been cleaner but after all you are in Amsterdam in a wonderful location (right in the red light district) and paying super cheap, so we can't expect much. But I'd be back for sure :)

Not more than a place where you sleep when you aren't in coffee shops. There aren't keys in the doors, but at reception they always look who goes into the hostel. You have to rent their lockers. Wi-fi only at the ground floor. NO sockets in the rooms. And rooms have got moquette and seem a bit dirty.

It's a great stay. A nice place with reasonable price. If you want to stay NEAR the central station and close to one of the main attractions - Red Light District, this is the place. A lot of cool bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants and souvenir shops nearby.

Lo rescatable la ubicación el servicio malo,

A very good position. It is worth the money (cause it is cheap with respect to the position). But not clean cause there are a lot of people. It is the red light area but it is safe. The reception watch the door with a lock when everyone getting inside. You can have a very good look at the heart of the city. It is a good choice for short stay there, e.g. 2 nights.

The feeling of security is poor. You don't feel safe, because the rooms have lots of beds and there's few facilities for you to keep you stuff. However I didn't have any problem. The staff is cold. They are not friendly, but not unfriendly either, just cold. It was really expensive for what it offers, but I didn't find anything cheaper though.

It was really hot when we stayed there and since we were staying in an 18 bed mixed dorm, we had to open the windows at night. Unfortunately, this meant that we had to endure the noise coming from the streets. So, perhaps it can be a smart idea to invest in air condition in the future?

Certain members of the staff were either rude and not willing to assist guests or lacked the general knowledge required to improve guests stay in the city. The visibility of sick in around the rooms is very off putting. Or furthermore feces on the floor of the toilets. In general the hostel portrayed an image that the soul purpose was to make money.. Which I guess is most likely the case but maybe you should make this a little less obvious.

It just happened to be 33c while staying in Amsterdam, nothing the hostel can do about that but it was very warm in the room.. Would have been nice if a squeezy soapbox was in the shower area. A little less Bob Marley/Michael Jackson music please! Hardly up to date or really relaxing.

Great location and very helpful staff. Met lots of new people and the 18 bed dorm was much better than we anticipated. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for the travelling atmostphere.

we dint read reviews before booking and that was our mistake. thinking it was cheap we booked it right away. reality is the place is filthy and the rooms stink. also some of the residents were extremely racist.

The hostel was fairly basic but we didn't expect much more for the price. The wifi was only available in the bar. The door rooms didn't lock but you can hire a locker. YOU GET THIS MONEY BACK. I don't know why people are making this a bigger deal than it is. Staff are friendly, place is fairly clean. Can't really ask for much more.

If you're travelling with a suitcase, don't bother because there are so many narrow stairs. Check in was efficient but our beds weren't made. The bathroom facilities were a good size. There is no air con in the rooms and our window didn't close. However we only stayed 2 nights. Breakfast is cheap (2.5euros). Only book this hostel if it's a last minute booking or if you're desperate. You get what you pay for.

Nice hostel and great location! The area is noisy but i don't have a problem with that.. There is no wifi in the rooms but is good in the way that there is more people in the common area..

The location of this hostel is superb! Right in the heart of Amsterdam and a stones throw away from Dam Square! The cleanliness wasn't brilliant in the rooms as the carpets were very dirty and made your socks dirty but the bathrooms were clean and convenient! The atmosphere wasn't the best but this wasn't due to the staff as all the staff were great! The hostel bar was very nice with refreshing prices compared to the rest of Amsterdam!

good place. Only thing is no plugs in room. But that is also how i met people cause I had to plug in bar. the girl working there is amazing.

Apart from no sofa's to chill on, all in all a good Hostel.

Although apprehensive at first being a young couple staying in one of the 18 bed dorm rooms we were pleasantly surprised at our stay. A friendly welcoming atmosphere coupled with good security and central location make this hostel perfect for exploring the wonderful city that is Amsterdam!

Left here to go to flying pig and this doesn't have the atmosphere or vibe that they did. However good alternative for a cheaper price.

If you're into hostels with rude staff, rude cleaners, dirty toilets that aren't even equipped with soap, then this is the place for you! Stay here only as a last resort, there are plenty more hostels on the street of this hostel that have far better reviews. Beware of the old Dutch receptionist who does the night and early morning shifts, speaking to him will probably ruin your whole day. Amsterdam is a lovely city, just don't stay in this hostel to cloud your travels.
