Great place to stay. It is the perfect location for coffee shops, nightlife, and such a close walk to all the important things to see. A very clean place with secure 24hr reception. There is a 24hr bar and a smoking room in the back. Perfect.

Stay at the youth hostel for he thing... Location location location. What it lacks in facilities yu would expect in big hotels, it makes up with its superb location which is bang in the middle of downtown Amsterdam. It has an amazing bar with a pol table and a smoking room. I stayed in the 18 bed dorm which is why it may have seemed a tad stuffy to me. But the hostel is clean, the staff is excellent. Made my Amsterdam stay more memorable. I'm definitely going back!
Good location, 5mins from central station, and 5mins from Dam square. They had a bar in the hostel, and also did food 24hours, which was good after a night out. Toilets and showers could have been cleaner, and the 18 bed dorms have large buckets as lockers which cost 2 euros for your whole stay, but there are only a few in each room. Very few power sockets in the dorm, so you may have to charge phones etc at the cafe/bar downstairs.
The good reviews were true, the hostel was in a great location. Best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a hostel. Although there were no locks on the dorm rooms, there were big lockers in the dorms, so bring a lock. Breakfast was basic but cheap, exactly what I wanted and needed while staying there.
Rooms and bathrooms were filthy. No power points in the rooms, you had to go the lounge to charge anything. Internet only worked in the lounge area and would disconnect randomly. You can't lock the doors to the rooms, so anyone can walk into your room. If you only care about location and price, then choose this place. Otherwise, stay away!
I picked this for the location (very close to the train station). It's a very large hostel with a ton of beds in the dorms - there are lockers and luggage storage - it was a decent hostel, nothing particularly outstanding or bad either - I'd stay again if I had to. Easy to find, pretty secure - right in the red light district so near the nightlife.
It's dirty and smelly and it doesn't feel safe. Most of the staff are stoned throughout the day. When we arrived we looked at the sheets and they were covered in hair and dust. The bedrooms in the morning are more like saunas. The best thing about the hostel is the pet cat.

The room smelled pretty bad, I never saw the bathroom clean. The hostel Was OK but is not worth the money, there is No lock in the doors!
Our stay at meeting point was great. We initially booked a hostel just outside of the city to save a few bucks and changed to here at the last minute. Best decision of the trip. Staff wee helpful, and the location was great. Or only issue was that some people got electronics stolen while there. However, the staff helped out and found the guy, held him until the cops came, and almost everyone got their stuff back. HighIly recommended.
Not for the gadget -savvy backpacker that wants to lie in bed.Power sockets all in the common room.
This hostel is great for young people, very basic however the location makes up for it. Alot of the bars and coffee shops in amsterdam close relatively early at 12/1am however the bar and smoking room in the hostel is open 24/7 and is always buzzing! We stayed up until 6am some nights socialising with the other guests!! Very nice atmosphere if a little pricey- but no more expensive than anywhere else in dam.

I was not happy to stay there, everything is a bit out of control, the staff doesn't speak proper english and they are not really helpful. They charge 2 euros extra for a locker, something definitely needed because security is really bad, at least during the day.
Stayed in this hostel, because it was the closest by the train station and just for 21 EUR that's a good deal. My expectations we'rent high, It's what you pay for. The ppl there are very friendly and helpfull, dorms we're clean, bed's we're clean. Just the top (ceeling) of the man's shower on the 1t floor needs to be reedon (was kinda broken, not clean). Fellow travellers we're very respectfull and friendly, but there we're drugs. But this is Amsterdam and you can't avoid it :-/
It was fine. It's basically a place to sleep and avoid being homeless. There's not much fun to be had inside, but the location was good.
I had a great time, nothing to complain about it. The location is great. The rooms are not very cozy but the toilets were always very clean, this is the most important in my opinion. The sheets were very clean too. The bar inside the hostel is the best :)
The hostel is in a very good position, near the train station and Dam square, the staff is friendly and nice, there is a girl who speaks spanish and a boy who speaks italian. There are lockers but you have to leave a deposit to use it. The hostel is divided in 4 floors, the stairs are pretty steep which are really tiring to walk with a suitcase. There are no power point in the rooms, and the wifi doesn't reach the rooms. The breakfast is NOT included.
The staff were very friendly and helpful! Lovely stay here! The only comment I would have is that there is no locks on the actual doors so once you are in the hostel you can go in to any room even if it's not your own. Other than this, it was a lovely clean place to stay in a great location!
Very good location for tourists, easy to find as well. Was very average compared to another place I have stayed in Amsterdam called the flying pig downtown. The smoking room was not comfortable at all so I found it hard to want to stay in the hostel. Drinks weren't too expensive for Amsterdam either. There wasn't a kitchen you could use either which meant that you had to eat overpriced Amsterdam street food.
