I know this is a youth hostel.I know that. But my gosh..it was a bit nuts. Three 20 something girls were placed in a wing with 8-9 year old boys...it was kinda like WW3 in the hall way. When we came out of the room, we often had to dodge bottles being thrown or boys sliding on their socks well into the night. It was a bit chaotic. WiFi also wasn't great, only worked in the dining room and only sometimes then. Breakfast was wonderful, very good. Location was great. This would be perfect for kids.
A nice hostel. Staff were brilliant, stayed late to wait for me when I was arriving late due to train troubles, and still very friendly. There were a lot of kids, but that can happen in youth hostels so to be expected. There was a used dirty towel on the floor in the bathroom despite me being the only guest in that room which was interesting. The building itself was cool and facilities were great. A nice base to explore the old town.
No WiFi what so ever, extra hostel fees when you arrive, horrible atmosphere.
A very good city with a nice hostel. Breakfast good. Facilities also good.
This hostel is located within the wall of the city of Rothenberg! If you are traveling to Rothenburg, I highly recommend this hostel, for the building itself is an original. The breakfast was great and the facilities clean. Do not expect a party atmosphere but instead enjoy the tranquility of the historic town of Rothenberg ob der Tauber!
The door of the Rooms dont look very well, no internet in the bedrooms only in the dining room.
the location is a little far off, but still within the old city and very beautiful. might be a problem for those with a lot of luggages and have to get to the hostel from the train station. a lot of families, not really a youth hostel feel. and also wished we were told about the additional EUR3.50 charge for non YHA members. other than that it was extremely clean and comfortable and breakfast was great!
I really enjoyed my stay in the hostel. Thanks

Bad: The location from the train station is quite far, and the instruction to the hostel is not clear enough, we cannot find the map on platform. Good: the staff are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast is so good!
Just a couple minutes walk from the main downtown area. Great hostel, although there were a bit too many children running around.
The staff were not so friendly, but it is in a great location & breakfast was included which was nice. The cleanliness was average, share bathrooms & toilets were not cleaned every day which is important for me. Overall I would stay here again due to its location only.
Breakfast is really great! Eggs, cakes, hams etc are provided. I enjoyed a full meal there. You have to get on and off the sheet by yourself. The bedroom cannot be locked if you are inside and the people outside can lock the door. It is very odd. The opening time of reception is only 2pm-8pm so time control of your trip here is less flexible. Bathroom are big and clean.
It's very thoughtful of you to provide tea and coffee all the time, especially in the winter. And the location is superb. The only suggestion I would like to make is to provide backpackers with some body/hair wash in the shower room.

The cleanliness is quite minimum, most of the facilities has been worn out, may be the hostel is too old...The light went off twice during my shower due to it has the automatic light off system. The price paid for definitely not value for money. But have got no choice, think this is the only hostel in Rothenburg. Apart from that, the stuff and the location are perfect.
The staff was very froendly but got my dorm switched and i got into a full female dorm. Not that i mind that, but it reflects on the quality of service. Also, the hostel was filled with kids, which was strange but funny at the same time. Licationwise its perfect, right inside the old town
Stayed in 4 bedded female dorms, lvl 3,7-9Oct13.Supposingly,a FEMALE dorm, 2nd night,a male chk in,he was told that’s the only dorms.*Peephole on the door wld be gd.*Early checkout on 9Oct13,reception door was locked, the male staff on 8Oct13 promised no problem, anytime!? A drop box for card key will be gd.*Not all can find the “platform” to locate grid B6.Either put up the platform or the way fm the train station to the old town.*Noisy.*Only free WIFI in the dining rm.*No free locker usage.
Directions from train station could be more laid out (e.g. take Ansbach to Topplerwag.)

Wifi only works in the dining hall and they could have better directions to the hostel on the website. But a good breakfast and friendly staff
The hostel is very good, but there are a few problems: it's not the place to meet people, there are almost no young travelers there and even if there were there are not many places where you would feel confortable to talk to people. There is no lift, so you might have to climb 3 or 4 floors.
