In my opinion the price was too high for an average hostel. The rooms were smal and the breakfast just ok.

like other HI hostels it's more like a big campsite.. location was a long way away from the centre and hard to after dark without taxi. breakfast was good.

It's fine, I wouldn't shy away from staying here again but the staff were rude.

The bathroom has such a strange smell... It is quite far from the city centre. Staff is a bit confused.

Hostel had terrible location, had to get a bus every time we wanted to go into the main town, which caused us a lot of problems, however, for the price we paid, you aren't expecting prime location. The hostel itself is a great building, however no fun at all, and really reminded us of a retirement home. Staff were average, they did their job of checking us in/out, but nothing more. Would stay here again as a last resort, which at the time of booking, it was.

Was pretty good, its a fair hike out of the city so be warned. Also there were Mosquitos everywhere, probably courtesy of the two fountains which are full of stagnant water. Would definitely visit florence again, probably stay somewhere diffrent. Staff were the only real highlight, they went out of their way to be helpful

The hostel itself is an amazing building in a lovely setting but it is a 20 minute bus ride to the main attractions and parts of Florence. That was fine one you had found the hostel in the first place. Mostly the hostel was clean and some staff were friendlier than others. Breakfast was good. My issue was with the room. There was no air con (fine) but no fans either and it was such a muggy couple of evenings with mosquitos everywhere that it made for a couple of very poor nights' sleep :(
