I cannot stress enough what a brilliant hostel this is. The staff are so lovely and helpful, on our arrival we were lucky enough for the hostel owner to pick us up from the ferry port and we were allowed to use the hostel facilities straight away despite checking in earlier than planned. The location is ideal as it is near the most beautiful beach on the island yet still close enough to all the bars etc. We were made to feel so welcome for our week there and I would definitely stay again!

Good stay, we had a kitchen in our room and it was annoying we couldn't use that at all! Good outdoor facilities!! When we were there it rained very heavily, there is only outdoor communal facilities apart from a very small kitchen so we were confined to our room! However all of the other times the outside bit made a great place to meet people!!

Nice hostel with all the makings of being a great hostel but was let down on a lot of things. Slightly out of town which is not a problem, nice big terrace for eating, drinking and meeting people which was really good. No common room for poor weather means having to hang out in rooms or the (very small) kitchen when raining. No system for labelling food in fridge means there is no room for food and half of it has gone off. The beds are squeezed into tiny rooms. Staff try hard though.

Thought the staff were lovely and the cold water on arrival was great! There were good facilities (ie kitchen, swimming pool) but I was only in Hvar for one day so it wasn't very handy - quite a long uphill walk from city centre. Receptionist was so soo helpful with restaurants/ night out/ supermarkets/ basically everything ! So couldn't have asked for anything better - just wish we had expected the 20min walk from town .

We had a great time here at Villa Marija. We were welcomed by the friendliest staff who gave us maps and all the info we would need to know about the island! We had a 3 bed deluxe room with a private balcony area at the top which was great. It's an easy location to walk into town and right near the supermarket etc. All round we had a great time here!

Villa Marija is the best place to stay if you're out for partying. Every night the whole group leaves for the bars together, which was really nice. also the staff guys who accompanied us did a great job. This makes up for the fact that the location is not very central! The only thing that was extreemely annoying was the alarm on our door. even though we complained a few times, they only put new batteries in it after 3 days, that thing was going crazy.... Other than that, nice stay.

The owner of the privates apartment is very nice.

My friends and I did not think this hostel lived up to its ratings. This was partly because (at the age of 24!) we were the oldest people staying there, so didn't much enjoy the sugary shots and noisy europop on offer at the 'parties'. However the room we were in was tiny and cramped, our sheets were dirty, the bathroom (shared between 8) was always filthy, and the kitchen was full of mouldy food. Not what you expect from a hostel at the more expensive end of the Croatian spectrum.

Even though I only stayed for 1 night, found this a great hostel. The ladies working there were very nice and helpful, the common area, including a pool, is really good. Only bad thing is its location, up in the hill, but still just a 15 minutes walk to the main square. They had a Canadian guy working there who would take everyone interested to the pubs every night, quite fun.

Very far from anything, nothing to do in the hostel area, useless kitchenette, socializing is not optimal as the guests tend to be drunken or in bed most of the time, lockers have no key nor code. I found it too pricey for the location and facilities, and geared towards very young people. Stay away unless you plan to get drunk every night.

Hi! I'm disappointed to hear that we were unable to meet your expectations in certain areas. We are located on a small hill just 15min by walk from the centre of Hvar town. As we discussed, kitchenette in your dorm was available only for a quick meal (fridge, sink, glasses..),which most of the guest appreciate this as they don't need to use the big communal fully equipped kitchen.Lockers are free of charge to use-guests may use their own padlock or rent one at the reception for free. Best wishes!

This is a great place to meet people! It's a little out of the way from the town but it's a great place to stay!

This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff are so friendly and so helpful they went above and beyond for our big group! The dorms are very spacious and the private rooms are more like a hotel room than a hostel room with their own balcony.very good value. Kitchen is ample size, we cooked every night for 11 people and no problems. This hostel is the perfect place for either party or relaxing. I cannot recommend this hostel enough. We all want to come back!

We spent 2 nights in this hostel during our stay in Hvar. It is a little far if you have heavy luggage (around 20 minutes from the Port), but without luggage it takes around 15 minutes. The first night was absolutely amazing, Lucy was very helpful on giving us local information, and all the guests were gathered at the amazing terrace, pre-drinking before hitting the clubs. I recommend it, though if you're looking not to party and want to hang out at the hostel, this hostel is not for you.

Very noisy party location which is very hard to reach on the top of a steep hill. No security, everyone could enter the crowded terrace at any time. Far away from the center and the harbour. Although there is a small pool (you don't really need on an island!) it is too expensive with 40€ per night in my eyes.

Bit of a walk from town but can be good as its quitter and close to one of the beaches. Great lounging areas out in the sun and the pool was a great hangover cure!

Cool Hostel in Hvar. Great rooms and all diff types. Location is a 10 min walk to city centre but also 10 min from the best beach in Hvar. Cool Pregame every night is chill and a great way to meet travelers. Place was clean and staff was great. Perfect place to stay as long as you don't mind walking 10 min up hill to get here. Was booked for 4 nights but ended up staying 6 because it was so chill. Love Hvar. Make sure you visit Carpe Diem and Palmizana !

It was pricier than some others but the atmosphere and people we met there were really awesome so you are paying for social side of it. Location was up a rather steep hill (when you are dragging a suitcase up 100+ steps...it hurts.) A mirror in the bedroom would have been amazing. 6 girls in our dorm and one small mirror in the bathroom! Also, the shutters in our room didnt block out the morning light which was so annoying! Saying that, i would reccomend it happily and definitely stay again :)
