Youth Meeting Home was a great place to stay! It is ideally located right in the center of where everything is happening. We never used public transportation once. The Duomo was about a five minute walk away. Tons of shopping nearby, places to eat or drink, and lots of sights to see. They guys running the place were very friendly and helpful. Almost every night there was free wine and food. It was great! Good atmosphere to hang out with other travelers in. Would recommend a stay here!
Here's what you should know: -2 showers for 20/30 people. Take one the night, less crowded. - The hotel is on the 6th floor with no lift. - it's closed from 10:00 to 4:00 pm, but since there's so much to do in Florence, it's not a problem. - staff is kind and avaible -really nice atmosphere/socializing place -perfect location, near everything. -while I was there, the staff cooked for the people, and it was free. - the bed were kinda meh. Not the most clean ones. Same for the whole place.
The staff was super nice and extremely helpful. They were able to put four of us into a room when we accidentally arrived one night early. They had sangria and pasta nights constantly, which was a good way to meet people. The location is perfect and walking distance from everything. Please note: they kick you out of the hostel at 10 am everyday, which can be tricky since there are only 2 bathrooms for the entire place. We ended up having to wake up extra early to wait in line for the bathrooms.
Staff was very friendly, provided us with all information and necessities. Every night the hostel served free sangria at 8:30pm and sometimes free food so that travellers could socialize. Probably one of the locations in Florence. Walking distance to most main attractions and restaurants/bars. Was located on a quiet street so sleeping wasn't a problem. Highly recommend!
It's not the most comfortable hostel, but be sure that you will meet lots of like-minded tourists and have fun. I very well appreciated the free stuff: free pasta, free wine etc. and they were the reason that made people meet in the first place. The staff is friendly and ready to help when you tell your problem. Couldn't ask for a better location: few steps to Piazza della Signoria - where Uffizi gallery, Palazzo Vecchio and nice restaurants are located. ~7-8 minutes walking to the train station
The location is probably the best in town. The staff is absolutely wonderful and they will do everything to make your stay enjoyable
Great Hostel! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they all contribute to the atmosphere and cool ambient of the hostel. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms clean. Location is PERFECT, one block away from Piazza De La Republica. Definitely recommended!
The guys were really accommodating, there was free drinks and snacks the evening we arrived which was an excellent way of the guests to get to know each other. Comfortable beds, great night in Florence!

Excellent location and thats worth alot, but that's all this hostel has going for it. They try to position themselves as a party hostel, but kick you out of your room from 10am to 4pm to "clean." They do not clean clearly because the rooms are quite dirty and the bathrooms are rather moldy and smelly. What they actually do, I'm not sure, but I came back at around 2pm one day and all of the bunk beds were folded up and the mattresses were standing up along the walls. I'd post a photo if I could.
Had an amazing time here, everyone was super friendly the rooms were quite large and air conditioned. There were a lot of stairs getting to the place and a little trouble finding it everyone knows it as a Student home free wine pizza partys at night were great! The only downfall is there was only two bathrooms but they're super clean. It is perfectly situated a few streets over from the Duomo. Also very close to the Accademia and bridges to the other side of the river. I would stay again.
This hostel is in a prime location, though difficult to find, building was well secured. Atmosphere was fantastic, it's small enough that everyone could hangout and go out together! Although when someone was sick the bathroom smelled like puke for the next few days, which was gross. We either got free dinner or wine and snacks every night!! There's no elevator FYI. The lockers are small but just enough for your valuables! Only two bathrooms but wasn't ever a huge issue. And lockout from 10-4
The staff manager in this hostel is the best I've ever been to. Everything is great here, especially for the tourists traveling alone. The hostel provides FREE pasta or wine every night!
Well, the location was perfect, just 3 minutes walk to Ponte Vecchio, however you can't find the apartment easily, almost nothing has written at the entrance. It's clean, no problem while staying, but 2 bathrooms are definitely not enough for 25 people. Also they wake you up at 10 a.m. to leave cause it's closed between 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Nobody allowed to stay inside because of cleaning, but it's to long. Staff is nice and free drinks everynight, but it's expensive comparing to facilities.
Best hostel in Florence!! Great friendly staff and young people, clean, and free wine every night!!
Only stayed for 2 nights and for what it was and the price id say it was okay. Only 2 toilets for 20+ people but it was great for meeting other travelers. Be wary of the 10-4 lockout hours. I would stay again.
The hostel was in a great place very central to everything, the only down side is that they lock you out for 10am till 4pm to clean the rooms! friendly staff and really helpful :)
Free sangria on Friday/Saturday nights. Open lobby to meet others. Good wifi, showers, bathrooms. Only two bathrooms for 20-25 people though. Fun place overall.
Complete WASTE OF MONEY: 1. Only 2 bathrooms in the whole hostel. 2. Lockout from 10:00-16:00 everyday (nobody can stay in the hostel). 3. Impossible to find (no signs). 4. WiFi only works in small common area. 5. Have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to it. Don't make the same mistake.
I only stayed here for one night but I had a nice stay. The guy that runs the place was friendly, I arrived on a Saturday night which is sangria night and was literary handed a glass as I walked through the door. There was a long wait for the bathroom most of the time and I have seen nicer bathrooms too, but the beds were comftable and there was a good social space so it was really easy to meet people. Also the location is perfect, you can't get much more central than this place.
