Expensive but that's Switzerland...included breakfast is great and filling. Would have been good to have a proper kitchen for guest use. Great location only a 5 min walk up to the middle of beautiful Bern. Good stay for 2 nights.
Clean hostel with a large common room, lockers for rent, and a table tennis table outside. Breakfast is included and is quite nice. A couple minutes walk away is a lift which takes you to the city center. One drawback: the wi-fi in the hostel is very slow. As an alternative, two computers are available for pay-per-use, but one was not working and the other shuts off automatically after midnight.
The PERFECT location. Quick walk to the train station made especially easy by the cable car that will take you up and down the steep hill. The hostel is also located right along the beautiful river, which has a nice green area along it to hang out. Security is good, a large locker comes with each bed. The only complaint is that there is only wifi in the common area.

Room wasn't all that and the hostel was full only of groups of kids on school trips, but the common area was nice and the receptionist was lovely!
Good hostel once we found the place. Directions are very unclear, and we had to ask 3 times for directions. But when we found it there were no problems, near the old town, staff is very nice and we loved the breakfast :)
This hostel was great for its location! It was not far from the beautiful river Aare! However, the hostel was not as clean, the showers didn't work as good and the beds were not that comfy. I thought for the price it was not bad, nevertheless, you have to pay a membership fee of 6 CHF per night. Either way, Switzerland is expensive and so it really was not a bad place to stay. As the dorms are big you can meet many people there. I even got to know the staff there as well!
Excellent location that allowed for swimming in the Aare and seeing the Old Town. the set up of the showers is very awkward as there are no hooks to put your clothes or towels except in the common bathroom area. Breakfast at the hostel was excellent, glad that it was included as dinner was good but very pricey.
The hostel is in a great spot, right under the parliament. They were very nice and had a very comprehensive breakfast. The rooms are very clean, and very spacious, even for 16 beds.
Really enjoyed our stay! Excellent service, cleanliness, and experience as a whole. The staff was really nice and super helpful with directions and good places to eat.

We were on the 3rd floor, and it was incredibly hot at night. The staff was great- very helpful and nice. We loved her. Breakfast was good. It was a really great stay overall. Pricey but that's Switzerland.
Drawback - Wifi will work only in lobby.....There is a rope way near this hostel, you can reach in 5 min else you need to walk like 15-20 min down the hill....and the lake view near the hostel is amazing....Good place to stay....
Bern is expensive, so there is that. Good backpacker hostel tho, and amazing staff! :D Extremely helpful and always there to assist you.
I think the hostel's facility to price is not that good. Too expensive!
Nice discreet location, not a far walk from the city centre. The bed was comfy and sturdy, and the lockers felt safe. This was a good hostel overall and I would recommend it, whether you want to make friends or keep to yourself.
I did not have a great experience at this hostel. I'm not sure why there were people above the age of of 40 staying in my room. The staff was friendly and helpful, which is always nice, but I did not feel comfortable at this hostel.
A huge hostel in a convenient location. Friendly staff. However because of the sheer size of common areas it's not very social for a solo traveller.
Extremely expensive, plus the 6 frank surcharge for non Hostelling International members. Also there are no wifi in the rooms so oyu have to come down to the common room to get internet. Bathrooms are common for the whole floor, and there is just one so it gets incredibly crowded. Overall would not recommend unless you can get something better.
The rooms should have more charging outlets. The hostel was pretty standard otherwise. I did see a lot more older people than in any other hostel I have stayed at., not that it's a bad thing, just an observation. Also, if you are checking out when the cable car isnt working, you will have to haul your luggage up a pretty steep hill to get to the train station.
VERY expensive for what I got... I get that Switzerland is very expensive but this hostel was a joke. Terrible wifi, average breakfast, awful atmosphere, full with kids screaming and families, and old weird people. If you are a solo traveler, is not a good place to stay. Unfortunetely, when I booked was the only place available. The only good point is that they give you a free transport card for your whole stay that saves you a few francs. Not recommend.
I liked this place. Sweet breakfast and nice location. Thanks to the lady who checked me in too.
