There are very few hostels to choose from in Luzern and this one is really expensive for what you get, even if it is Switzerland. If you are not a member of their hostel association you pay extra per night so be aware of this. There was a microwave and kettle which was good and breakfast is included (really good breakfast). You can walk to town from the hostel and there is also a bus nearby but be aware that this hostel is outside of the city centre so walking from the station would be too far.
The dinner is delicious and a good value. We payed CHF15.5 for it and ended up taking it both nights. It was difficult to meet new people here - though while I stayed there was a large contingent of Asians that shunned non-Asians and may have chased everyone out of the common spaces. The hostel requires a bus to access the train station, though it is a relatively frequent bus. There isn't much in walking range of the hostel. Be aware that there is no bar and no guest kitchen.
We loved our stay here. Very clean and tidy. Staff was friendly. Rooms could be a little more bigger. However the cleanliness, location, price and facilities provided by the hostel was great. Would visit again.
Okay hostel, but expensive and far from the city. The breakfast was good and the facilities were clean overall.
