Nothing special about it, although a nice place to stay. Staff knew the area well and were helpful in recommending activities for the day based on the weather, which is a big factor when staying in Zermat .
Should have advice that the way to go Hostel is like to climb Matterhorn
Staff were friendly. No lift, which was a pain. No wifi in room. Breakfast was excellent!!

The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, very nice to have. The wifi only worked well on the bottom floor which wasn't that great. Everything else was fine. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Staff were pretty friendly as well. The value for money was pretty good, considering its in a popular area. Better than most hotels in the area.
The hostel was wonderful along with the town. I give highest recommendations to this hostel and town! The price of everything in Switzerland is high so for what we received for the price, it was more than worth it.
The staff at this hostel went above and beyond to help me after I was injured on the slopes. The breakfast was great and it's a good location as well!
A bit far from the train station, but many things to do in its surroundings.
It's reasonably priced for staying in the heart of zermatt. And we had an awesome view of the Matterhorn. The staff are quite friendly and the food (free breakie and reasonably priced dinner) are an awesome bonus! It lacks atmosphere I think because it attracks a lot of people who are just desperately seeking reasonably priced accommodation in Zermatt. This includes families, elderly couples etc. so it loses a bit of that young energy and hostel vibe that you usually expect.
This is not what I was looking for in a hostel at all. The atmosphere was non existent (the majority of guests are significantly older or families). In terms of price it was crazy, I understand Switzerland is expensive but a 10 bed dorm should never cost that much. What irritated me most though was that guests weren't allowed to use the kitchen, so you either have to pay even more for their provided dinner (expensive), eat out (expensive) or use the ONE microwave for the entire hostel to use.
Our stay in this hostel over Christmas was better than we had expected. Getting a free breakfast buffet every morning is a big deal when you're doing it cheap across Europe. Only thing is no wifi in rooms.. But other than that great place!
had A LOT of fun visiting te Matterhorn! the staff was more than willing to help you and sit and talk about what good activities zermatt has to offer. felt very inclusive. free breakfast offered a large variety of food and was actually quite tastey! thanks youth hostel, I still have some pocket change to spare! ps. the hostel dinner is cheaper than the entire town!! invest ☺️
