Not a good place for young solo travelers as mostly large insular groups and family's. They also cater to large youth summer camps which did not make for a relaxing place to stay and made breakfast a challenge. Breakfast was excellent and charged you up for a full day of hiking which was appreciated. Facilities are clean and comfortable but they lack a kitchen for travelers.
This hostel is very pleasant to stay in and comfortable but it attracts an older family crowd that is not good for meeting people. The staff is excellent and the breakfast does a great job of powering a hiker through the day. An excellent location near the trail heads that isnt a problem to reach from the train station.
Location is terrible, no wifi in rooms only in lobby. Everything else is relatively good!
the only bad thing is they donot have a lift.
A good hostel. A bit far from the station. Small room. Very crowded. Good breakfast.
The wifi was very patchy and it took us a day to even be able to connect. I didn't mind the idea of wifi on only two floors but maybe have more seating? Other than that is was a great stay. We were very cozy when it was cold and the beds were good.
This hostel was advertised as a youth-hostel, but there were more people age 28+ than younger. Very few english speakers were staying there as well. The staff were not accommodating when we tried to cook dinner, and they do not allow guests to use the kitchen Breakfast was very good The hostel does not have very good staff hours (doesn't open till 4pm and staff leaves around 10am) The hostel is at the top of a hill - just a heads up so that future backpackers can find it
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well equipped hostel. No kitchen but the dinner provided was good value and nice. It's quite a walk from the centre of town and the train station (up a steep hill and steps) but the view is good!
The hostel located a bit far from the station anyway walking from the station is the best way to reach out, during the footpath it is the view of Matterhorn. Cheer!
Your breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Your staff was wonderful as well. The kids got a little loud, but, there's little that can be done to stop that--it is a youth hostel, after all! Overall great experience.
Definitely don't walk to the hostel with luggage! Catch the Red bus! It is up a steep hill.
Great place to stay in the beautiful Zermatt! The staff is helpful and the hostel has a superb view of the Matterhorn! The also offer a delicious breakfast!
Hostel was fine. Was quiet as it was low season. Breakfast buffet was really good!!
I only stay one night. The bed is clean and there is locker to use. The breakfast buffet is good.
The cheapest place to stay in Zermatt. Overall a very clean hostel with a great breakfast!
Great place to stay. Expensive, but hey it's Zermatt. Staff is very cool. Not really cozy feeling as seems appropriate in Zermatt, but overall a good place to stay
I have a love hate relationship with this hostel. My out of shape body hated climbing up to it several times. The rest of me though really liked the facilities and good breakfast and dinner as well. I recommend others to go for a walk up and behind the hostel to what to me felt like "real zermatt" , out of the tourist area, was a really nice walk .
Internet connection wasn't good. Basically I couldn't use from my tablet to do some research at all.
Best hostel I've ever stayed in. So clean, Best beds. The view was insane and the breakfast was incredible!
