Too far from staion but you can see mountains in the room
Everything is excellent except for the staff who were not so helpful. However, over all, good place to stay for the adventure.
It was fantastic, so far the best one I have stayed on this travel.
Stayed here for 1 night in a 4 bed dorm, hostel is in a good location, the staff were friendly, good value for money, room was clean, spacious, lockers in room, sink also, wifi only works on bottom and first level dropped out a if, breakfast included was really nice, they do dinners as well. Warm showers. Very clean hostel. Would stay again and would recommend it
I was a bit wary staying at a YHA but I was really impressed. Free breakfast was excellent and the 4 course meal in the evening was great value for money when you consider a basic pasta meal in restaurant is around twenty Swiss francs. Good location and great base to explore the beautiful surroundings. Check in doesn't open until afternoon but lockers to store luggage when you arrive but make sure you have a 2 Swiss franc coin on you.
Awesome hostel, great location (10 mins walk from the station - it is a small town), good breakfast, nice staff. Only downside is the additional 6 Euro charge for non-members of Hosteling International. But the town is so beautiful it doesn't matter.
hostels in Switzerland are much better than those of anywhere else, it's true! and this one is especially good for perfect facilities, wonderful people and unparalleled cleanliness!!!
Awesome friendly and helpful staff and excellent breakfast included in the price. Good value for Zermatt
Staff are sometimes a bit short-tempered but the food isn't half bad, the place is spotless and your window frames the most iconic mountain in the western world. You can't really beat that.
nice hostel but you need to climb up the hill a bit pricey
The breakfast is amaaaaaaazing. The little tvattbjorn ate muesli (with chocolate!), bread ham and chesse, also nutella, hot chocolate and juice, and indeed joghurt, unfortunately, she missed the slice of melon. I was sick, but she took such great care of me, that I'll always love this hostel, and this tvattbjorn. :)

The location is the challenge. You need to climb up to the hill with all your luggage, and there isn't any word about it in hostel description. Breakfasts are great and rooms are clean, but there was't option for private room, only dorms. So, we, the family of 3, stayed in a room with outlier, I think that was uncomfortably for us and for him.
I seriously cannot say enough good things about this hostel. Maybe it's because of our experience with the staff but we absolutely loved it here. The staff was very accommodating! When we needed an extra night, they did everything they could to let us stay there, even though they were booked. We also met some great people in the lobby but the hostel was fairly quiet in general. Good breakfast, and great showers. Not just a great hostel, EXCELLENT hostel! (minus the stairs needed to get there!!)
Family hostel, lots of kids.Stayed in 8 bed dorm with slanted ceilings. Bunk beds are small and too close together. Lights out at 10pm (strict) because everyone is tired from hiking and activities during the day, somewhat frustrating. Big lockers in room. Recommended to eat at their cafeteria because Zermatt restos are very expensive. No staff member on duty in lobby from 10am - 4pm to 'save money', yet staff roam the building in case. Up a hill, be ready for small climb, but nice view.
Was a bit noisy. Groups of teenagers were gathered in front of the hostel making lots of noises (the annoying kind). Would be better if they were less rowdy.
Located 10 minutes walk from the station but with great views from our room. Clean and safe but lacking atmosphere and a good internet connection.
This is not a fancy hostel with a unique vibe or feel - but it is CLEAN, SAFE, WELL MANAGED and has: an EXCELLENT BREAKFAST!!! (Plus great bathrooms too!) It reminded us a bit like staying in a college dorm that sleeps 4 instead of 2. It's a really great base for your stay in Zermatt, where you're supposed to be out enjoying the mountains - so if you just plan to use your room for sleeping - you're set!
Solid hostel. Free breakfast thats better than any I've seen at a hostel. The guy the front desk was cheerful and friendly. Would be cool if you guys added a little input on whats going on around town when people check in.
Happy to have a free breakfast although it was much more stingy than that of Hosteling International. Rooms were nice and showers were the best I had in Switzerland. Beds were comfortable.
Best hostel in zermatt - that being said it is pretty expensive, but that's because everything in zermatt is. Beds and rooms are pretty nice, showers not great but the staff was super helpful and nice. Stay here!
