The hostel is extremely expensive for what it is (50USD a night for a 6 bed mix dorm). There is simply no ambience there; pretty much like in every other HI hostel. There is no kitchen and the food at the restaurant\cafeteria is quite expensive a well (18.50CHF for dinner). The location is really bad, really far from the center. Just look for something else if you are travelling and looking for a good hostel with a good ambience.

There are no kitchen facilities - it would have been great if we could have made a cup of tea etc at least! Our room had previously had smokers in it - and it stunk for most of the stay. Breakfast was supplied and it was very good. (Although would have liked some toast). Location is good and it is easy to find following the hostel's directions either by tram or train. The hostel was clean, staff friendly and helpful - bit expensive though - I think that might be because they have to fund brekky.

The directions were not that good. We stopped by Tourist Info at the train station to get a better route. The CO2 tax is not advertised beforehand, nor do they forewarn about the additional cost if you are not a member of the IYHA. Blocked out of our room until 3pm, even though the room was ready. Had to make our own beds, no towels provided, and the showers are on a 1-minute timer (you have to keep hitting the button). 10 staff sit to eat lunch together, but none to refill breakfast buffet.

This was a great hostel! Very friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities. A great big common area where you can play pool, have meals or just a coffee and chill out. I found it to be a little pricey, but you'll find that this is one of the best priced hostels in Zurich, so that's not their fault! I recommend staying here :)

Good: Large living room, good staff, facilitis new and absolutely clean, high quality breakfest, lockers on rooms. Bad: As everything in that city, the hostel was too expensive. Besides, once I'm tall, I didn't fit the bed, and that has been very disturbing. Finally, the location forces you to take a tram, which costs about 4€ per jorney or 8€ for a 24h ticket.

Very spacious and clean hostel. Was bright and cheerful, and honestly exceeded my expectations for hostels. I've stayed at some dingy places, but this one was top notch. The only issue is the location. It's quite far from the city center and the train station, and there are no night trains/buses to get a person back if they are out late.

Was a nice enough hostel with a bar and pool table which was fun! The only downside was it was very expensive (which all of switzerland is) and pretty far out of the city.

It's a few minutes off a main tram line. It looked much cooler to me in the photos than it felt in person. There were some older women in my room that felt strange because it was a youth hostel, so I expected younger people.. but downstairs the people were younger. Switzerland is really expensive but everything seemed good quality. If you go to Zurich during the winter, it's great because they really decorate the main streets and you can walk the main circuit, with little shops and stalls.

The location of the hostel is horrible. It is very far from the center. It takes 20 minutes to arrive there by getting the tram 7 from the main street. Apart this, the rooms are small for 4 people. And a little bit old. The structure of the hostel is amazing, however not compatible with the rooms. And also the breakfast is very nice.

This hostel is expensive, but then again they are all expensive in Zurich. The hostel is really new and very, very clean. The breakfast was actually really good too. There were many older people staying there which was different, but I am sure it is because Zurich is such an expensive place to stay. They also sent our postcards for us, which was nice! We didnt have to wander around to find a post box.

Not the nicest feel to a hostel... Felt more like a school camp facility than a hostel... 6 swiss francs to be a member (to be able to stay there) per night was an extra sting on arrival... Facilities were all clean neat and appropriate though

A little out of the way, but with transit nearby it wasn't hard to get into the city. Good breakfast included, clean dorm rooms with lockers, good bathrooms. Staff didn't seem to know a lot about the attractions in the city, but happily looked up everything for me on their computer. The second night I got back to my room and the new people had been smoking in it. I asked to be switched to a new room and the staff were great about it. Overall it was a good stay.

Everything is rather pricey in Zurich, and this hostel is no exception, although it was definitely one of the cheaper options listed on Hostel World. My advice, though, would be to book through the hostel website and not here, because we found out after arrival that we could have gotten our two nights discounted. Apparently they had a deal that if you pay for two nights you get the second night free. That would have been great to know before we booked through Hostel World!

This was by far the best hostel I've ever stayed at. When you first walk in it looks like a hotel. It was just an outstanding hostel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was included (delicious coffee).

I really enjoyed the fact that there was free wifi although I wish it would have been available throughout the building as well. But what really impressed me is the fact that they were able to switch me out of a room where it just was didn't smell very pleasant. It would have been extremely hard to sleep if I had been stuck in that room. Also, I forgot to check out in the morning as I had a really early flight but called while I was at the airport and they told me not to worry about it! Thanks!
