Charging for wifi at a place this expensive isn't just tacky, it's all together crass. But, it's the only game in town - so what are yo going to do?
lots of families with screaming kids running around, and old men snoring away. Youth hostel, indeed. But the big bowl of fruit salad with breakfast was nice.Charging for wifi at a place this expensive isn't just tacky, it's all together crass. Location is ok, near the tram line otherwise it is a 30 min walk into the centre. Rooms were roomy enough and the showers were ok.Location is ok, near the tram line otherwise it is a 30 min walk into the centre. Rooms were roomy enough and the showers were ok....Close

Wonderfully-designed establishment with clean lines and plenty of space. It isn't terribly close to the city center, but public transit is readily available; one our friends even took a night stroll home from the city downtown to this hostel! Way out of town (hav 2 take 20 min tram 2 get into city. Costs 4 CHF each way...but we never paid and caught the tram everywhere but didn't see any inpectors). For such a big place youd think they could provide free Internet (or at least wifi) but we managed to find an unlocked wifi spot opp the tram stop near the hostel. Also you get 20 min free wifi in town as a few Switzerland towns provide. We've stayed at much better places. Brekky was good though and we saved by having it 4 lunch 2Way out of town (hav 2 take 20 min tram 2 get into city. This hostel looked nice, but the staff had rude attitudes, there was no kitchen, so we had to buy their very expensive dinner which was extremely average. Dorms are small and beds not great. This hostel was very expensive and out of the centre. Not worth it, not recommended. Was a clean hostel but VERY VERY expensive. They charge for everything apart from breakfast. For a YHA hostel this does not accomodate for a travellers budget, was clean and comfortable though. Was a clean hostel but VERY VERY expensive. They charge for everything apart from breakfast. Very pricey for a hostel. There are surcharges.
Towel is included, but only if you ask for it!
Showers were large, private and clean. Toilets were always dirty, and sometimes there wasn\'t toilet paper. No soap in the toilets\' sink! Directions were clear and it\'s easy to find. The included breakfast was very good for a hostel breakfast. Friendly staff. Lockers in the room, but you have to pay 2 francs for each use!
Overall, I expected a lot more from a Youth Hostel in that price range.Very pricey for a hostel. There are surcharges.
