When we arrived, we didn't feel welcome. Alan, the owner, could not find our reservation. When he found it, he still had to clean our room, so we had to wait an hour in a sofa. During our stay we never felt welcome or at ease, when we wanted to cook something he was looking over our shoulder, grumpy as always. In the morning, other guests (which didn't book via hostelworld + paid more) got a superbreakfast. We got NOTHING, and had to prepare it our own. The room was filthy, the pool unusable

Well, if I spent an hour cleaning the room, how could it be filthy ?. Silvia cleaned the rooom the next day and she has been cleaning these rooms excellently for 4 years, and assured me that she cleaned it as usual when they were staying here. Its not the best room, which was why it was cheap ($300 pesos). However theystill got a real bath, mini-split A/C, full cable TV. I told them the kitchen was open until 9:00 pm, and they were still there until 10:30 pm. , plus I sleep next to the kitchen, and had to get up at 5:00 am the next morning to wake up a guest who was catching a flight. The location is in the best part of centro in the centre of the expat community and 10 minutes to the main plaza, and 5 minutes to Paseo De Montejo with buses near at hand to go to just about anywhere, so how can location be rated at 1. A full breakfast is optional and costs 40 pesos extra, which they didn´´t want to pay for, instead they used the kitchen. Other guests paid for the full breakfast. They had free coffee and toast which is included in the room.

The service is excellent for the price!! But this is not a place design to meet people. It is more a relax and rest place. We slept very well. If you take a room of 4, make sure you're aware that you've to paid for 4 even if you're less

This is a place with a nice big pool and is very clean. The private room I stayed in was very big and had a TV and bath. The owner is originally from the UK and liked to talk. He had some difficulty to get guests since the last review mentioned about bed bugs in the rooms. However I have not discovered any and it all looked very clean. Although they were maybe even nicer a few years ago since you could see it was in need for some new paint or reconstruction. All in all it was good a price value.
